  • What I want to know is. How the fuck do you do this. Please tell me.

  • oh man i dropped my brain listening to this :O WORGHHH!!!!

  • What is your cymbal setup? And btw, what do you think about Demon Drive pedals? I'm thinking about direct drive pedals and I'm getting closer and closer to buy them.

  • @kaozdrums Hey man, I use TRX cymbals. Great company, they're very supportive. I'll give you the short description.

    5 crashes, 3 chinas, 4 splashes, 2 hi hats, 2 rides, 2 ice bells

As far as the demon drives, I like them a lot. They're not as light as say Axis, but they're still quite nice. So it's not free, easy speed but I like their feel for sure. Thanks!

  • @Blastfest03

I actually play guitar.. i like metalcore and punk..

I play atleast 10 hours a day when im not in school..

Love the guitar riff the most.. but the drums just make the riff nastier..

Great combination like i said.. BRUTAL

    stay Metal friend \m/

  • @DefiancebyArt Hey, thanks man! Wrote this song awhile back. I started on drumming quite a few years before guitar but I've always loved how the drumming can just enhance a riff. Some people call it over playing, I call it defining the music and giving it identity.

  • Very cool tune, must say, great guitar playing also! I would rock this song on my I-pod ha ha

  • GOD DAMN!!! Pure fucking brutality..

be my bandie and teach me THIS SHIT lol

  • @DefiancebyArt HAHA, thanks man! It'll take a lot of hours and a lot of patience! New Pillory Video coming out this weekend hopefully. I think you'll enjoy it!

  • What a hack =-O xoxo

  • this is like BEAST MODE Dude!!!

  • THIS IS SOME OF THE SICKEST SHIT IV EVER SEEN! YOU ARE A FUCKING ROBOT!

  • Darren,

I noticed you doing some single foot blast beats in the tune. Why did you use your left foot if you are right footed. I presume you are right footed as generally if you are right handed you will be right footed and your set up is right handed. Was it to give the other leg a break? or was it just because you can?

On another note, I thought your video for Goratory 'Yo Mama ...." was the business. You are definately right up there with the best if not better.

  • @johnlynchjnr Hey man! Glad you like the Goratory tune, it was one of my favs. As far as the left foot blast, it was more just an experiment on my part. I still prefer blasting with two feet but at least I know what it feels like on one side. Mechanically the left side seemed to have the right type of twitch for it so I worked on it for a few weeks and made of a video with it. I'm always looking to test new techniques and see if I want to continue to use them. Thanks again!

  • Awesome! do you use 3 snare drums??

  • @DrGoreSchnippes Hey, thanks for the question! I actually have 4 snare drums in my current set up. A 14" maple, a 14" brass and then a 10" maple piccolo and a 10" maple soprano. I just always like to have as many dynamic options as possible. Thanks again!

  • This on Rockband.

  • Holy shit your insane. thats awsome

  • what kick sample is being used?you can't honestly say it isn't triggered.

  • @catrunes666 it seems that its complete tapping (so its pure triggering) which i really dont like

  • Your feet don't nearly look as fast as the bass sounds. But when you count it up everything matches. Crazy good drumming!

  • like this if you saw it because of Kevin Sherwood's facebook XD

  • @SacredHeroV2 roflmao yeahlol

  • hey man ! Awesome job !..

What type a shoes and modell do u use =)?

  • @Andee90x Hey man, thanks for the comment! The shoes are called dB drum shoes. Check out their website, it's a great product, I never play without them!

  • MUY BIEN...QUEDE MUY IMPRESIONADO ...ME ENCANTA VER BATERISTAS DE METAL EXTREMO QUE SEAN LIMPIOS, RÁPIDOS, Y CON POTENCIA....FELICITACIONES MUY BUEN TRABAJO

  • whats the kick sample being used?

  • and to this i say noice!

  • Ive very curious, how in the world do you quickly transition to the gravity blasts that quickly and cleany? Do you have a speical method, or did you just start slow and build it up?

  • @BittersweetEuphoria1 Hey man, thanks for the question! It's a couple things. The grip I use is very important since I basically can use it no matter what technique I'm doing. So it's easier to transition that way. Second, with my Roll Blasts I wanted to be able to incorporate them differently then other drummers, so I had to practice placing them where ever and when ever needed. It's not like I just do it once for a long hold I, wanted to be creative with it. Thanks again!

  • @Blastfest03 Ah, Do you still have optimum balance with your grip when doing gravity blasts? Because I know for me, The optimum balance between singles and gravity rolls is probablly about a 1/2in apart. Or have you just gotten used to it that way? Also, I dunno if you could answer this, but what excercises did you do to work out those quick transitions? I really dig it, and would like to eventually try something like that out! (Of course probablly no where as clean as you :P)

    Thanks man!

  • That's probably the most wicked flying fingers blast I've ever seen my life.

  • @mdross9500 Thanks man! Thing is though that it's pretty much all wrist. I know it's a very unique grip and the fingers move as the stick moves because they're always in contact. But the push and power really just comes from wrist movement.

  • what sticks are you using?

  • @WaterlyTom The only sticks i've used for the past 8 and the only sticks I will continue to use until I have my own model. Zildjian Mike Mangini Signature sticks. They're made from a laminated Birch. It's very dense, very heavy and very durable.

  • Dude absolutely sick. Snare is a bit muted, in my opinion.

  • @DuduChapola To tell you the truth, I've experimented with right foot blasts, left foot blasts and alternating feet. I'd don't necessarily prefer one over the other but I want to try it all just to help build my base of skills. It's best to be able to do everything so you can use it when it seems fitting. Thanks for the question!

  • wow those guitars are, sick, you should totally write for a band, would be amazing. if you currently are, i don't know about it TELL MEEEE. love the thrash sounds sick.

  • @JobForAGabby Hey man, I've been playing guitar for many years but of course drumming is my main focus. I've written albums before and a few years back my band Band Pillory put out a CD on Unique Leader records. I wrote about 80% of the guitars on there. I'm always writing original pieces and hoping to do a full length myself one of these days. Thanks for the comment!

  • wow!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck guy . veryfuckgood :)

  • what's up darren!! well i'd like to know if your wuhan china has cracked somehow, you know i'm planning to but this cymbal but one guy told me that this cymbal is a waste of money that it cracks very easily so please let me know waht is your opinion now that you have one and you use it very often as you are a proffesional drummer, thanks see you

  • @ELGRANBAUTISTA Hey man, thanks for the question. Well what i've learned over the years is that all cymbals crack. Whether they cost $200 or $50, they will eventually crack. I like the sound of certain Wuhans for sure, but I love other china's as well. If you want to save some serious cash I definitely recommend trying out a wuhan and see what you think. And keep in mind different drummers crack cymbals sooner than other drummers due to technique and playing style.

  • @DuduChapola Thanks man, I hope those CD releases will be out soon, the Hideous Deformity Record has gone to print, so it won't be long now! The Eschaton Record should be done soon as well. As far as the pedals, I used to use the Eliminator Belt drives. I liked them a lot, but I do think the Demon Drives are that much better. They have accuracy and touch that you can't get with a chain or belt. They also don't feel too light like an AXIS pedal, but it's all personal preference!

    Thanks

  • Hey everyone! Thanks for the good words. When I play music like this, I really just try to focus on creativity and innovation. I love technical music because it challenges me and gives me a chance to try new things. I never want to do exactly what someone else does, I hope between my writing, my drum kit and overall style that I've created a sound all my own. I just finished an agreement for my next project, so more vids to come!

  • Dude you do stuff that I haven't seen any other drummers do. The one foot blast with your left foot?! You're pushing it to new levels man keep it up! Amazing work
