I love James iha's voice. I think he's one of the most underrated musicians ever. The only problem... I can get the album ANYWHERE! The only place I found it was selling it for like $300.
I´ve been told by EVERIBODY that James Iha´s solo work sucks... but this song is very well written and produced, sounds like a confusing-cloudy-foggy dream
growing up in the 90's i always loved billy corgan, and don't get me wrong i still do, but as i got older i find myself more into james's style. not just this album but all the little songs and b-sides he had with the pumpkins. either way any song off this or any pumpkins album still brings me back to a special time....
i suppose it is better to be simple. I'm just glad that he put his stuff through the indie circuit to see what it's like to make your own music without Corgan around. Any aspiring artist should give it a round through the indie circuit so that they can see where improvement needs to be made though James doesn't have too many flaws.
James is great and song is sweet. The only need he has to address is working with a lyricist to extend his vocabulary as a song writer. Other than that, he's pretty set for a great indie record. BTW, why did he leave SP?
That's a great comment! I believe all artists need to collaborate with others. However, as far as extending his vocabulary as a song writer; I tend to agree and disagree. I think that his art is simple yet complex in nature. His art is about love and loss. I think he is a wonderful artist, unfortunately, I am not sure why he left SP. I have heard Billy is not an easy artist to work with. Other than that I am not certain.
My favourite song from the album, and one of my fav songs ever!
I would have been cool if james had a bit more vocabulary as a song writer, not every song being about and containing the word "love", BUT still an awesome song and album and a very talented man to tap it off :)
I agree. As much as I do love his record, I wouldn't have objected to James working with a lyricist. He has great melodies and hooks, his arrangements and harmonies are also great, but like you said... the lyrics aren't the greatest. But it is what it is.. a mushy gushy love record, lol.

Well stated. There are many ways to say "I love you". However, when it comes from the heart and is honest...it doesn't matter.

@ihalover He sang lead on one of the tracks on Mellon Collie, it's called "Take Me Down".

It's filled with vulnerability, love, hope and despair. The guitars are flawless too. Love this music.....
