Religion is a virus of the mind. Oh how I pity these people in the video. Very delusional indeed. Wonder what god they would be praying to had they been born in Mecca? Religion is primarily an accident of birth.
all great... but God didn't pour out His wrath on His Son, the "cup" was a cup of suffering from men. Jesus told James/John they would experience the same cup, and same a woman and her household. Logically speaking, Jesus is the only one who died for our sins--and if He took the wrath of God--then so would every other true follower if that were a cup of God's wrath.
I'm well aware of the Isaiah passage also, I know God is the one who predestined it--but the Jews/Romans carried it out. GBU
@droptozro this is so wrong... in the garden Christ wasn't fretting over the wrath of men, He was coming under the wrath of God for the sin's of men! On the cross He bore God's wrath for our sin! Without that there would be no salvation possible!
Look at those two passages(and there is another where Jesus tells a woman she will drink the same cup), see clearly Jesus is speaking of the same "cup."
If Jesus took the cup of wrath from God according to you, then so did James and John---so you would also be saying James and John died for our sins and took the wrath of God.... is this what you believe? That cannot be possible...
Salvation is possible, Jesus' sacrifice satisfied the wrath of God--that is propitiation

"He was coming under the wrath of God for the sin's of men"
Be consistent now, look at the two passages below speaking of the same cup
Luke 22:42 "saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”"
Mark 10:39 "39 They said to Him, “We are able.”
So Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink the cup that I drink, and with the baptism I am baptized with you will be baptized;"
