@1987iniesta You've never tried it as an away fan, you have an attack dog in a suited woman who does the rounds literally every quarter of an hour, barking at people to sit down, and threatening to bring in her purple-jacketed stormtroopers if you don't comply. I managed to escape her gaze by bobbing down whenever she appeared but standing as a visiting supporter at Elland Rd is more difficult than most grounds I've been to.

while I fully support you brits to bring back standing terraces i wanna state one thing about some of the pictures in the video. imo it doesn't help your cause if you show people hanging on the fence burning pyrotechnics - that is not how you convince higher ups about safe standing. ;) not to be misunderst, atm we fight here in germany to allow controlled burning of pyro and i support that - so i am not against it in genearl - it just doesn't fit the topic in this case.

In terms of images and footage of people on fences with flares etc. It is important when debating issues regarding culture to take other cultures into account. In this case, it's about helping people understand the different footballing cultures from around the world. British football stadiums have been forced into a somewhat flat atmosphere over the past 20 years, and this was just a basic insight into how football is celebrated around the world.

I'm in the United States, and even we have designated areas in (association) football where supporters stand in front of their seats. The elderly and "smaller fans" can choose not to sit there. There is nothing wrong with safe standing areas; even the city councilman said so it as long as it was safe. It is (look at Germany). So where's the argument against safe standing?

Wolves have just announced that they are to redevelop Molineux. In a live blog session, one fan asked the Chairman if there would be any chance that safe standing could be incorporated into the new build, should the legislation be brought in. The Chairman side stepped the question a little by saying that at the moment the law states that the ground must remain all seated and that the club must work within the current legislation. Let's hope that Wolves and many other clubs allow safe standing
