EA-18G has half the fatigue life of the EA-6B Prowler. Many suspect the first EA-18G will be retired before the last EA-6B. USMC not going to replace Prowlers with Growlers. They will continue the Prowler traditioin.
Great video. Great editing. Well done. You sir capture this perfectly. The song fits perfectly. From the mission, to the aircraft and ending of the era. Prefect!
Have to get this off my chest. I frickin hate those planes! I left VAQ-139 in 2006 so I'm assuming those are the same planes I worked with and if so I'm glad I only get to see them on youtube and not in real life, yes!!!! Sure if you are an officer it's great, but as a line rat you deal with the mindless hours of babysitting these tin cans, and it's a miserable job which is greatly magnified on cruise.
Wow, best Cougars vid i have seen. my dad was a coug around the early 90's Craig "Scrappy" Tyson. can't believe that the prowlers are still flyin after all this time. love it!!!
I made the video. My buddy filmed most of the shots from inside the cockpit. I filmed most of the shots out of the cockpit. Most of it was filmed over the summer on the squadron's latest deployment.
this is my most fav video on youtube 100%

At 3:06, four Prowlers in the air at once is a truly impressive feat. :-)

love this video and love this aircraft. sad that they are changing them out for more F-18 variants. one question tho, what does Master Rad stand for?
grayboy6 8 months ago
@grayboy6 Master Rad is short for Master Radiate. It is like the Master Arm switch for jamming.
danimal139 8 months ago
@danimal139 i see thought it might have something to do with that but wasn't 100.

They may be old birds, but man do I miss working on them!
howie98277 9 months ago
They are just getting too old. More and more maintenance is required for each flight hour.

Love this plane, my dad flew A-6's and he loved the EA6. Why would they replace this awesome machine anyways? Cost?

Is that a missile top spinning at 3:38?

@blues03 No. That is one of the jamming pods.
