you need a better amp. you can clearly see that the subwofer is restained cause they have a 4'' suspension and it moves about 2.5 so see if you can get your hands on a bigger badder amp and youll see, it pounds much much more. else, if you want more power out of the sub, make a box with a port. ports are the most important thing. and make the inside corners of your box as round as possible and youll see, it beats the shit out of our ears

i wouldn't rate the modified sub high for quality.. if loud AND quality is priority, get the standard level 4 or level 4 XL..

the bass wasn't natural sounding at all.. but for putting on a good show / impressing your friends, you would be satisfied for sure!

as all u car audio enthusiasts seem to forget..PEAK POWER MEANS SHIT..u can have a 10000watt speaker/sub that dont kick worth a shit as it only puts out 10000watts for LESS THEN HALF A SECOND...make sure your speakers have a RMS rating which means thats the power it can put out AT ALL TIMES..the same can be said for AMPS...

Just to let yall know this subwoofer is a piece of SHIT... i went to a local car audio store and they had it on sale for like $280 or something and they said it was awesome and when i picked it up it only weighed like MAYBE 15-20 lbs. A good subwoofer has a huge magnet and is heavy. Then he gave me alittle demo and it hardly shook the room at all, haha my home theatre system shakes my room and he was giving it about 1500 watts or so. dont get earthquake unless its a sub zero. go orion hcca or h2

lol. you fail. a dbxi 15" is massive if you power it right and put it in a decent box. its all in the box though... i agree, they dont sound that great in a little pre-fab sealed box. but then again, nothing does. lol. it needs a full 3 cubes and drop the tune to around 26 hrtz or so... outplays W7s all day long.

btw, have you ever had a dbxi 15"? in a car? powered correctly and in a decent box? if not, dont trash it, because you dont know. :)

If you know how to design and build drivers/baskets and cones its actually not hard to make any size of sub. We made a 24" sub with a motor from an old Realistic mach 1 15" home audio driver and made a custom basket/cone for it a couple years ago. It didnt sound very good but it was the first time trying something like that.

@magic028 So does this, register +10 on the Richter scale when playing Earthquake on DVD in Dolby 5.1 digital? Too bad the audio is lousy, use an SPL db metre to recoded the sound direct to pc on webcam and select webcam mic to off and use one of input modes. Set SPL to 90dbc for mild level or 100dbc for higher level or 110dbc, it would capture the lows a bit smoothly without distortion.
