  • wonderful video, would love to get my art there some day

  • @tagzee Thanks very much. Best wishes on your dream coming true!

  • Great!

  • @kajenomaja We're glad you liked it. Thanks for watching! You can see highlights from "In Our Time" at our website.

  • Art has no boundary. (Art is anything) That said, you only gain recognition for being the innovator. IE: Jackson Pollock... anyone could "do" that... BUT HE DID IT FIRST! So there for, he gets the glory because was the first to call it "art". Peace!

  • @admx94 Thanks for your observation and thanks for watching!

  • This is a fabulous survey. I will be showing this video to my art appreciation classes. Thank you.

  • I love it.. It's amazing modern art museum.

  • Very interesting documentary. Thanks for sharing.

  • paintings are not created to decorate walls but so that we know where to find our spiritual

  • this u tube deosn't run smoothly

  • What a great cop out for experts. 'In 10 - 20 years' until only then we may know who we missed?

  • Too much talking and the art can be seen for a second only.

  • They have killed art

  • @Oddonan You didn't Save it.

  • @ryanfoley123

Yeah, this is the price for begin weak and helpless.

  • So much "modern art" is a bunch of pretentious, BORING, unimaginative, waste of space and time landfill fodder. I've been to different museums and I am always disappointed. Something died in the 20th century, it's not art, it's the death of art.

  • @ZaGaZigZag

    Hello,

so: What is art? Don't you agree, that it is everything around us, within us, which has never existed the way it is presented, before? All kinds of even simple things, can be transformed, have the potential to became art-objects. It depends on the unique way of showing something about them, make changes, nobody ever saw in them, felt about them, or even thought, that they might turn out to be this way (or not to be!).This very moment a nonrecurring object of art is created.

  • @sandysandstorm I don't know, I guess art is whatever, I obviously wasn't in a very artful mood the day I made that post. I really don't like a lot of modern art, but you know the old saying about beauty being in the eye of the beholder.

  • great video. Thanks a lot for it grazie mille

  • Scam.

  • BURN IT DOWN

  • These commericals are ridiculous!

  • It's an insult to the viewer to show commercials on YouTube. We are desperately trying to get away from commercials, some people even give their TVs away, but YouTube allows commercials now.

  • I have to say though, Ozzrya91, a substantial amount of modern art is mimicking the simplicity of classical art.

  • I reject both of your realities, and substitute my own, SOME modern art is substantially more creative and different than any other, but the curiosity and lack of knowledge in the past has led to some incredible masterpieces that were never thought of. Art is a very opinion oriented subject, just like music and other medias, but all art has some type of beauty or mystery hidden within that makes it so interesting to us as individuals. Each and every painting speaks to us in unique ways.

  • @Ozzrya91 I have the feeling you're repeating yourself posting after posting, completely ignoring my replies. Anyway, continue extravagant and childish "art" full of funny and very colourful pictures, if you cannot understand (or are not willing to try) the trancendental Beauty of a Caravaggio or a Reubens, just because it "looks too real" to you.

  • @Ozzrya91 We're definitely no understanding each other. I insist that the Good, Truth and Beauty are not matters of opinion and do not change with the amount of people who believe or understand it. The Laws are imutable, and even if most people in the world should believe that a Picasso is beautiful and that Geocentrism is true, that wouldn't change the falseness of both statements.

  • @Ozzrya91 true,... but not a genius,.. simple as that

  • @Ozzrya91 That's nonsensical. Art cannot be compared to technology or science in that way. Or can it? This may end up sounding too cryptical, but here it goes: Science and technology advance by obeying Logic. If they go against it, you will feel in in your flesh (ie vehicles won't work, medicines won't cure you). When you ignore the laws of Logic that should be applied to Art and Beauty, you won't die, but your spirit and society will be weaker that they should. That's is modern art and its effect

  • @thegreatfearblog btw watch and leave a comment on my "Art" video, I'd like to know your take on that, even though it does not deal with surrealism.

  • @Ozzrya91 I did kind of defend Giger just before.

  • @Ozzrya91 When I say all modern art I don't mean it chronologically. I thing H.R.Giger and possibly Dali respect the classical traditions to a great extent even though they lived after the 1940's debacle. It's about doing the work and not just doing some shit and talking a lot about it.

  • @Ozzrya91 You lost me at Guernica.

  • @Ozzrya91 Not at all. Don't confuse the work of, let's say, Reuben or the classical artists you mentioned with photography. There is so much more to their work, and you're missing out just because their paintings look "real". That is the some of the damage that imersing yourself in modern art may have done to you. What is not shocking or "imaginative" seems boring to you. It's like listening to Mozart after a lifetime of Metallica. It sounds dull and repetitive. Give Art a chance.

  • @Ozzrya91 so what makes them genius? He was a great painter with a big talent. But there is thousands like this today... so is he genius because he was the first? Is this the reason? is the reason the talent or the being the first...?? Or just because you hear others say he is a genius? Michelangelo was a genius,... read a book about him..

  • @Ozzrya91 those are cool,.. not geniuses, because I am sure you can paint like they did,.. but at list they painted

  • The very advanced visual culture that was achieved in middle age Europe (and Asia) had to be destroyed. The group who took over pictorial art as well as music in the early to mid-20th century, redefined those two arts for very clear political purposes. As a result, Art in the 21st century has no meaning whatsoever. It’s WHO promotes it, WHO sells it, WHO markets it, WHO appoints the "experts" that tells us what Beauty is. I expose that in my "Art" video.

  • @thegreatfearblog always been that way, ruling powers adopt certain means of expression to legitimize rule as somethin the common person can relate too. i'll watch your video, but your prob just a fearmongerer without the benefit of a positive plan forward

  • @DrKanada Nothing to do with legitimizing power, it was just as a way of indulging their tastes and of attaching themselves to Beauty, to be seen by the ruled as a force of good (even when they weren't really that good). Today the masters of the system use "art" to debase society, pure and simply. Don't bother watching my video, I don't think you will like it, really!

  • @BytheseaMrTodd - is it for Queen's University? because I have to do the same thing....

  • Beautiful Museum, the Cristina Canas exhibition was the best, she's an Abstract Artist from Portugal, so talented, no wonder Oprah Winfrey collects her paintings. cc-fineart com

  • modern art = garbage

  • @int1901 if you cant appreciate modern art then you cant fully understand ancient art or whatever type of art.

  • @prismacolor2 yes, you are right,.. if I cant appreciate peace of shit on the wall I can appreciate beauty of Michelangelo. Too bad, i traveled to Rome for nothing.

  • @prismacolor2 What an absolutely stupid comment. Modern art is a scam and completely unrelated to classical art. Possibly some of the less worst of modern art can be compared to primitive art, that's the possible best it can be said about it.

  • @int1901 I'll second that.

  • where theres poverty there comes great art.stupid i know but when i look back to any recession i find art at its best.same with comedy recession has its perks.

  • yes, that's nice , but you guys wasted tax money when couple million Americans were unemployed in vain .

  • Magnifique !!!

    O.Malagamba artiste

  • Great video thank you!
