@ptango666 True; I was surprised to hear him say that. There were so many obscure and interesting animals in this planet's past that a lot of people don't even know existed.
To all the people who think the gannet whales are far fetched: penguins and the extinct Hesperornis are pretty close to what a conceivable transitional form between a gannet and a gannetwhale could be like. Remember, evolution has managed to get some pretty crazy results already.
"environmentalist anti-human propaganda"? I think environmentalism is the most pro-human agenda out there. We can't exactly live without a properly-functioning planet, now, can we?...
The animals arent evolving backwards. Evolution creates the animal best suited for living in the present era. Sometimes an older design is better for specific era.

@agouti6 Indeed, Thylacosmilus. It was related to the marsupials. Convergent evolution is crazy. There's a marsupial equivalent for damn near everything.

Yeah and "Dolphins and whales are all extinct." Common sense would say Pinnipeds would 'quickly' take over the niche Whales & Dolphins left behind in the event they ever encountered extinction. @FlashVirus well, the producers were obsessed with trying to kill off as many modern creatures as possible.XD. i dont think that tetrapods could be killed off that easily, especially considering cod survive in tfiw. i doubt they'd survive the next 40 years.

Marine Mammals, as you know, give live birth and some aren't bound to land so they can grow to a massive size.
@Skywalker91 since whales have few predators apart from humans, killer whales, and large great white sharks, if humans disappeared instantly, then there would possibly be a population boom of whales and since they'd have fewer predators there'd be competition for food and they'd eventually evolve or drive themselves to extiction.
@Skywalker91 because maybe whatever made us disappear made life intolerable for them too. Humans are only one small threat in the mishegoss of global changes. Our arrogance makes us think we make these decisions. We don't really. Earth does.
