Awhile back, I got the 78 from ebay. cost me about $80. But it's worth it. I like all the classics on 78's more than anything else (drawback is then break easy).
The beauty of the 78s was their closeness to sound rough and true, but there also were speed variations, though whether these could account for a subtle differential in equatable music keys I dont know.
But it was rare that 78 meant 78 it could be as low as 65rpm up to 80rpm, also as well as the recording speed being subtly different, different players often inter-related to the records with different speeds.
A 78 player depending on wear and make could also play faster or slower.
I either have to go and tune my guitar or this songs not in the key of E as I've always remembered. 78s are the best sound. Whats the wire we can see in this? Is it power to camera or for sound? Any chance you can connect your record player up to a valve amplifier? Maybe I should connent my PC to a valve amp, huh? Now that would be nice!
Cool!! I got that too, but it's not as good condition!!I got mine off ebay a few months ago. Cost me $75. Nice shiny 78 you have. Carl Perkins is one of my favorites.

Too bad Carl never got the recognition he deserved. He was an original and remains a classic. Thanks, LSM, for keeping this stuff alive.
