  • Awhile back, I got the 78 from ebay. cost me about $80. But it's worth it. I like all the classics on 78's more than anything else (drawback is then break easy).

    Love it!!! 78's forever!!!!

  • Great old 78...nice sound, thanks!!!

  • Thx again, Merry Christmas:)

  • Super song and video!!!***** see you my guitar version!!!

  • ARE YOU READY!!!!!????

  • what a great song from a true musical genius i will always love this music

  • I was 15 years when I bought my first Carl Perkins LP.I loved his style then and I always will.

  • I love it when the rhythm player changes to C late at 2.34....that's a big part of the song to me.....great song tho, he was the master....

  • This, cats- is the Rockabilly master at work. No one better, then or now. He is the true King of Rockabilly, and will always be. RIP Mr Perkins

  • rbound827: you put it! Totally agree!

    cheers L.S.M.

  • @rbound827 couldn't put it better myself, cheers L.S.M.

  • Too bad Carl never got the recognition he deserved. He was an original and remains a classic. Thanks, LSM, for keeping this stuff alive.

  • You're ALL welcome

    gretsch more....Rock on..Peace.

  • great great

  • BTW thx for the post brilliant........

  • The beauty of the 78s was their closeness to sound rough and true, but there also were speed variations, though whether these could account for a subtle differential in equatable music keys I dont know.

But it was rare that 78 meant 78 it could be as low as 65rpm up to 80rpm, also as well as the recording speed being subtly different, different players often inter-related to the records with different speeds.

A 78 player depending on wear and make could also play faster or slower.

  • I either have to go and tune my guitar or this songs not in the key of E as I've always remembered. 78s are the best sound. Whats the wire we can see in this? Is it power to camera or for sound? Any chance you can connect your record player up to a valve amplifier? Maybe I should connent my PC to a valve amp, huh? Now that would be nice!

  • left wire camerapower, right thin cord is power to turntable

Thnx for visiting & supporting my site.

  • Could you post any of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison Sun recordings to on the records?

  • One of the best songs the beatles ever covered. SO good. Great post. So So Jealous.....

  • All I have on 78 by Perkins is a scratchy copy of Matchbox on Quality.

  • That beats a 70's repro of blue suede shoes...

  • Cool!! I got that too, but it's not as good condition!!I got mine off ebay a few months ago. Cost me $75. Nice shiny 78 you have. Carl Perkins is one of my favorites.

  • At least you have something good - All I got are a bunch of cheasy 45's =(
