  • great poem

  • I like the wide thought-vistas of this poem and its many connecting routes. Individual images are great too, like 'when I abandon these bones

that hold on to me' - quite a thought that, our bones holding us tight, like captives!

  • A wonderfully thought-provoking poem, James. I believe the spirit of Socrates is still alive in some of us today, in those who question authority, and challenge our preconcieved notions.

  • How wonderfully you poem spanned all those centuries, temporally, and physically across the whole globe. The woes of one generation are clearly re-experienced by the succeeding one. I wonder if there will ever be a time when we shall actually learn something from our past so as not to repeat the same mistakes. A thought provoking piece. perhaps the answer lies with increased connections, just, as you say, water connects us all. great piece

  • Sadly, Socrate's time are long gone, James.

    5*

    all the best
