black hair is actually more versatile and strong than we give it credit for. The problems is using either too much chemical for too long or not moisturizing enough and using natural products that will nourish your hair.

@ashellz99 Yes (yes, yes, yes, yes), but moisturize the ends with some water and a little leave-in conditioner, then "seal" it with a thicker oil like castor, Vatika, (my faaaaaaave), or avocado.

I have seen a lots of video on how to grow one hair basely I believe that some people just have growing hands. because my 2 cuz tried every thing from no perm for 9 to yr and there hair still did not grow but my grew with in 6 to my but . but it has all ways grown I feel like I have grown hand very very power hands because, I grew my god child hair from her ear line to her shoulder in three month her mother thought she had weave in her hair .Then their other co.work .

Oh, and also recently I've been going 100% natural. No perming, blow drying, flat ironing or any other kind of heat on my hair because I want to be able to grow it long. I just wanted to know that if I were to still straighten it, will it still grow the same just as if I weren't to straighten it just as long as I take care of it well because you said that you straighten your hair and it's that long?

@Princess11311 I just recently cut off my relaxed ends (august 2009) and my last relaxer was May of 2008. I really noticed the most growth when I stopped applying heat to my hair. Not that heat is bad but less is better. Also, I too have experienced heat damage and doing a protein treatment really helped to repair some of the damage. I used Aphogee. Hi! I have a very important question. Recently I have noticed that my hair has suffered from heat damage. So recently I clipped my ends. But my hair isn't as thick and puffy as it used to be. i noticed that you do not use a water based moisturizer daily...is that not important?...i thought that inorder to moisturize u need water based moisturizers and oils to seal in moisture. Coconut oil can be moisturizing but can it replace a water based moisturizer????

Can you recommend me an oil to put on my dry scalp. My hair dresser tells me to not put anything on it. I just had a relaxer a couple days ago and my scalp are just dry. I do moisturize and seal my hair. I will be doing my wash next week

I'm not TruthisHair, but I heard coconut oil and olive oil are great. You don't need to wash them out, but some ppl do have a routine...where they cover their hair w olive oil and warm water with a shower cap, keep it on for a while, then rinse it out....up to you.

No it shouldn't take years. In the beginning I used a tape measure to record how long my hair grew every month. This would be a great barometer to determine how long you can reach your hair goals.
