The city's name was Brześć nad Bugiem/Brześć on the Bug (river) as it was always Polish,not Russian.Russia only occupied it since 1815 and after 1939 but for centuries it belonged to Poland and was the gate to Warsaw.Why does the Russian name still function in the west?Don't westerners know history?
