  • THANK YOU. MY HEART WAS HEAVY WHEN I HEARD THIS SONG AND THE WAY IT WAS PERFORMED. OUR BLACK CHILDREN SHOULD HEAR THIS TYPE OF MUSIC SO THEY WILL KNOW THEIR HERITAGE.

  • Beautiful....smh. Absolutely beautiful!

  • What a wonderful sentiment. A true Christian admonition. It matters not what you believe but there is no denying that if we all adhered to Christian philosophy the world would be a better place. Two commandment: Love God and Love your neighbour. Think about it as it is the only formula for world peace.

  • THIS SONG WAS PERFORMED AT OUR FORMER MAYORS FUNERAL TODAY..THIS SONG MAKES ME CRY...ITS SO NICE...RIP WILLIAM DON SCHEAFER AND ERIC SAUNDERS...

  • It was me hearing Ernie with the choir that sealed my decision to start my collegiate matriculation at Morgan State....I was in highschool and my life was changed by hearing this group at Cleveland State University in I believe Kulas Hall????.... It was the first time I heard a collegiate choir (which i grew up hearing) with voices that couldve been on any Opera stage anywhere.... The voices unusually exceptional yet young..it was amazing!!! Kudos Morgan State University Choir!!!

  • Boy this is SO hard for me to watch.

I close my eyes and I see Miss Margaret Lindsay-Johnson, Joe Pierson, James Peterson, Glenn Fields, Joseph POOCHIE Wormley, Kenny Raysor, Eddie Smith, Ernie Saunders, and of course, the incomparable Nathan Carter.

Oh that I could live in that world just one more day.

  • Great great song. I really love it.

  • Ernie was a true Minister of music

  • I attended this concert while still in high school and was convinced that i HAD to attend Morgan State! Ernie's voice is more pure, more soul-stirring and more gorgeous than this clip could ever display! This choir is awesome and Dr. Carter was a legend! Nothing but love...

  • Ernie Saunders was a master of music. He will be missed in the cogic forever. I will always admire this man...

  • Amazing, just amazing. Would like to find more performances by this soloist

  • If they are no longer with us.....I DID NOT mean to offend anyone by any means. REST IN PARADISE......

  • So many versions i have heard of this song.If that beautiful voice could reach any higher it would touch the heavens !!! And the choir as well !!!

  • I was in school with Ernie, what a wonderful spirirt. What a voice. I was at this concert, and I lost it. I type this now with tears just falling. I thank God. I knew these Great Men. Dr. Nathan M. Carter and Enrie Saunders, Legends.

  • I have several tapes of the 25th celebration concert. My favorit of Earnest is "Great is thy Faithfullness" where he hits a "C" above "High C." Remarkable, I would like to find some tapes or CDs by his. Are they available. I know Dr. Carter has passed but am I correct in thinking from your post that Ernest is also.

  • Ernie went home to be with the Lord October 7, 2004

  • Oh my. What happened. I remember them recording this. He shouldn't hve been that old. All I can say is Rest in God Earnest u had a beautiful voice.

  • You mean off to imagination land!

  • I truly feel sorry for you wildorcawhale. You have nothing better to do but come into the space of those who love and worship the Living God of Glory and toss little spitwads of mockery. How sad. How pitifully and tragically sad.

  • Breathtaking. Speechless

  • OH, how I LOVE the music of Dr. Nathan Carter. It's amazing!!

  • Sorry,what a song,live on and onnnnnnnnnn

  • Ernie went home to be with the Lord October 7, 2004.

  • Dr. Carter and the Morgan Choir...Bravo..

  • The first male with such a voice like that and that is not falceto either.... that his is natural

  • That is his falsetto. You can hear it. That's why it gets thin at times. He still did an excellent job.

  • This falsetto. And if he's not a dude then he's an angel.

  • still sound like a female But if you read my above comment I NEVER said he sound bad. just not used to guys sounding like women and yet at times better lol lol take care

  • Have you heard a boys choir? Beautiful, Then they start cracking up and loosing it, A few men can do a really great. Occasionally a woman can manage a note of two of falsetto.

Captain Macaw's mama is a music major, LOL Peace to you, brother.

  • Earnest Saunders laid the legacy of Morgan countertenors!!! THANK YOU!!!

  • beautiful, ernie we miss you !!!! thanks for posting this video, I grew up with Ernest Saunders

  • I believe the best version of song was performed by Detriot Ressiance High School Varsity Choir in 2003.
