@geofg Thanks. It's not a "band" per se. Like most jazz musicians, Izumi "jams" with a lot of different people. Tomoaki, on sax, is the same age, and came down from Hokkaido for this series of gigs Izumi organized. In each gig, the membership was a bit different. I love hearing Izumi talk about jazz and music theory, even though most of it goes right over my head. Dude lives for jazz. As a fellow 親ばか, I'm sure you can guess that I'm quite proud of him.
izumi is very good at the bass! he can walk on it!!

So, that's your son on bass? They are really good. How cool to be in a jazz band as a high school student!

@mattthorn I'd be proud, too. And being a jazz musician is way more 渋い than if he were to be in, say, a J-pop band or something.
