Funny. The song is called Sasusalito, but it doesn't look like it was filmed in Sausalito at all.

The house looks like it's in the Oakland Hills. During the sunset from 1:27 to 1:32, you can see the Bay Bridge, and a bit of the Golden Gate Bridge.

In Sausalito, you would not see a bridge coming towards the house nor one that's perpendicular to it.

Everything else looks like San Francisco: Marina Green, Castro, Financial District, Fort Point, and GG Bridge.

The song is named after the movie. I guess the reason the movie was called "Sausalito" was that Maggie Cheung's character said she likes Sausalito because "Sausalito looks like Sai Kung." And Leon's character's house (1:55) is [supposedly] in Sausalito. I guess it represents their dreams/ideals...although the movie ends in SF (if my memory is correct).

I don't know about the Bay Area - so the expensive house is actually in Oakland Hills? Thanks for pointing that out.

That bridge you see from 1:27 to 1:32 coming towards the house has a curve in it. The only bridge like that is the Bay Bridge at Yerba Buena Island. I'm not certain if you can see the GG Bridge from Sausalito, but the GG Bridge is straight.

Looking at the map and drawing a line from Yerba Buena Island eastwards, Oakland Hills would be where you could see the Bay Bridge like that from a house in the hills.

Marin Headlands at the start is as close as the video gets to Sausalito.

This film IS SET in San Francisco. As someone else mentioned, Sausalito is a dream of Maggie Cheung's because it reminds her of home.
