  • It took your 1005ha 42 seconds clean os..

    my 1005ha ( n280 / 1gb ) takes 33 seconds on win7 with lots of crap installed..

  • try the same comparison with Windows 7.

  • Linnkkas, i have with N270

  • Which processor has 1005he? Atom N270 or N280?

  • N280

  • Go banana!

  • There's a little difference, but doesn't matter ;)

I have a white 1005HA-M (Intel Atom n270) and it boots very fast with Linux Ubuntu 9.04 netbook remix version :D

  • i have a white ha-m, too :)

    but i'm running win xp

does ubuntu work good on the eee pc?

    no problems with touchpad...?

cause i think about switching the OS

  • That netbook works great with ubuntu especially with the new 9.10 karmic koala 'cause fix the network problems met in 9.04. Only few things don't work: microphone, card reader and few special hotkeys (but brightness and volume are ok). I suggest you installing ubuntu netbook rix version 'cause graphic environment is better on netbook than the normal version but the os is the same.

  • why do people keep making these boot time compare when the two machines have completely different things installed. if you want to make a true compare then do a clean install of both machine and do it again

  • both computers have the same programs installed and a clean os.

  • i hate the wide display frame, they should make good use of the size

  • Well, that'd mean either slapping in a larger panel (increasing cost, reducing appeal cost-wise and portability cuz it'll be heavier) or cutting off the bezel so as to make it thinner but the entire case width and length would have to be reduced as well hence reduced keyboard size and convenience.

  • Pretty close race

  • Nice demo. There is a noticeable difference, I'm surprised. I chose the 1005HA, but would have went for the 1008HA If the memory was user upgradable.

  • even though it has a much shorter battery life?

  • True, the long battery life was the final clincher for me in choosing the 1005ha. Although if they had the long battery life and upgradable memory, I'd have gotten the 1008ha no question.

  • Of course, but also keep in mind that a 1008ha with a longer battery life and upgradable memory is a 1005ha.

  • Ram is upgradeable on the 1008ha as well, but it is not for the faint of heart. To do the upgrade you must disassemble the unit. There is a sticker seal that must be taken off to do the upgrade which essentially voids the warranty.
