Why can't modern music be more like this? I realized that everything modern artist that actually is somewhat good is strongly influenced by classical composers like this. But no one could ever be close to this musical geniuses that lived 200 years ago. I simply don't get how teenagers my age and even older can listen to their generic pop when there is real music like this in the world.
@satyrludi Well, it really boils down to how pop music gets them all ''pumped up'' and/or ''excited'' and ''emotional''. Pop music is actually an incredible accomplishment, in the way it can convey so much raw desires, wrap it up in a catchy rythm and make millions of people listen to it every day. Teenagers, especially, don't want (in general) to listen to technically amazing and complex music, but to satisfy their emotional impulses while listening to simple things that fit with their reality.
@abandeli So did Bugs Bunny AND Tom & Jerry. It's a great piece for build-up to a crescendo, lending itself perfectly to puppetry or animation. You can also take the good parts and edit them into a 3 minute cartoon, while still retaining the overall idea of the piece, AND leaving enough room for comic interpretation. Whew!
@Wolferlest I believe you are mistaken... the romantic period actually intersects with the classical period; the classical period extends from 1750 to 1830, while the romantic period is from 1815 to 1910...
Liszt had such a good sense of humor about himself that I think he would have been very amused that Bugs and co. had grabbed this piece. Its very flattering when you think of it--and helped introduce a whole generation to classcial music--that's a good thing.
@taterthesufferer I would really like to at least try to help you, because -as a Hungarian- I can't even imagine how difficult it could be to learn my main language... :)
Its amazing how many atmospheres and emotions one man can create with one instrument. There was certainly more emotion than money invested into music nearly 200 years ago. the opposite is happening today.
Liszt named his rhapsodys ,,hungarian", but the sequence of these song is the ,,bőkvártos minor", and it comes from the gypsy music, because Liszt belived, what he heard in the salons, from the gypsy musicians, is the real hungarian music. BUT IT ISN'T TRUE! I'm hungarian, and I know, how the real hungarian music sounds, and it has got pentatonic sequence.
@jakemcguire777 lmao. History does not tell us how many Lisztomaniacs showed up to his concerts wearing nothing under their dresses, but you can be assured, Liszt had few lonely nights after playing songs like this one.
I am wondering how Liszt's face is gonna look like if he actually watched the Tom and Jerry episode that was made based on this piece of his. Liszt's wide grin from ear to ear =D
@blessedhomosapiens Yes, I think so too--he had a good sense of humor about himself-and would have laughed uproariously! And been tickled pink his wonderful composition being tied with a marvelous invention called animation.
is it any wonder this dude pulled more tale than a retarded kid at a petting zoo? such incredible talent coupled with that "come hither" look in his eyes. even in the 1800's, chicks knew that hooking up with a dude who was amazing with his hands was a very good thing..

@migso If you don't know that every other pianist has put in a cdence at the 9:15-10:00 section, then I don't know why you even think you know anything about this piece
@MrLieblingsessen fucvk yourself fag, theres only one way to play this song, its the right way, that literally sounded like shit, which i know u might be attracted to, but dont talk to me anymore, if you dont know shit, dont put that on me
@migso How about you learn how to spell before you starting talking music. From what I can tell (just looking at your channel) you are a washed up fuck living in his moms basement looking for a record deal. Grow up, stop being a fucking troll, get off YouTube, and secure yourself a job at the local McDonalds.
@TheSoulOfGenius spoken like a true american... piece of shit. i dont want a record deal, i live with my brother thank you. and i have fun listening to classical music, but the real thing about classical music, is how precise, awesome and accurate it is to the original composition, showing that the composer was truly a genius, and has method in his madness,
@TheSoulOfGenius where as the stupid douche bag who played this piece who you keep defending, murdered the piece, making liszt look like some random musical fuck up like yourself, i dont give a fuck if this piece was done by your mother, it sounds like shit, when u KNOW WHAT YOURE SUPPOSE TO BE HEARING. I'M SURE YOU INDULGE IN NOT KNOWING WTF YOURE SUPPOSE TO HEAR, but go back to being an english teacher, and leave the opinions to people with true passion.
@TheSoulOfGenius get a better youtube name, one that doesnt give you away as some 5 yr old fanatic idiot just cruising the internet not knowing what he suppose to be hearing, defending the careless retarded underdog, and fighting for nothing absolutely worth while. you think a live audience would applaud at that if they knew how hungarian rhapsody goes. i've heard since i was a kid, no one has ever fucked it up this bad, so fuck yourself, and you go to mcdonalds to secure your boyfriend.
@TheSoulOfGenius cuz i dont have to look at your channel to know youre an idiot, but you have to look at mine and try to nit pick, go fuck yourself, go defend some other idiot fuckin up a song some where else. one that isnt as important anyway.
@migso I understand that the artist preforming this wasn't accurate from what you perceive, but you could have at least have said so peacefully instead of violating the caps lock button and sounding as if you have no idea what you are talking about. For example, "This rendition was okay, but the performer failed to make this accurate. I noticed several cases where he made mistakes." Something along the lines of that. So just chill dude.
@migso why such hate? it's a version, it differs from all the other there are, because people are different. plus, I have seen a lot of hungarian rhapsody n. 2 versions and there seems to be 2 endings there, and this is one of them.
This is real music, im 19 and a male, and i have a hard time finding music better than this, its so relaxing, all my friends think im crazy listening to this in my room while they are getting off on Justin Beaver, this music is a timeless classic, although i do believe this kind of music isn't for everyone, its really only for the refined who are intellectual capable of comprehending more than going out on the weekends.

You're so wrong. He always said about himself that he is hungarian. "List" is no slovak name, it's hungarian, because "Liszt" has a meaning. Do a research about his life and after that talk stupid things that you don't have a clue about.
of course it is, grand fathr and father was slovak, THAT IS WHY HE WAS ORGON SLOVAK AND HE KNEW ABOUT IT AND he was christianed as LIST . HE DID NOT SPEAK HUNGARIAN AS WELL, SO SURE HE WAS NOT HUNGARIAN
@MrBajoti You can shout as much as you want, dear Mongol boy, but Franz List (becase that was his real surname) spoke his father's language (Slovak) and his mother's language (German), and he also spoke French, but he spoke no Hungarian. By the way, we Slovaks had our history when you Magyar-Mongols were still hanging by your tails from trees somewhere in Mongolia. We Slovaks are Indoeuropeans, you are a completely different race - Turko-Tartars. And your place is in Asia.

It's Alfred Brendel's interpretation. That's why it is the perfect version.

You're so wrong. He always said about himself that he is hungarian. "List" is no slovak name, it's hungarian, because "Liszt" has a meaning. Do a research about his life and after that talk stupid things that you don't have a clue about.

@aljunidizlaaav

@Panakeje I don't know if you can't tell how incredibly racist half of your comment was.
