  • The "Tom and Jerry" comment may have just been a joke...

  • 9:28 La Campanella?

  • Wonderful music!!!

  • Ist was Doc? Franz Liszt?

  • genio, inigulable, hermoso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Estás guapo, pareces un vaquero. Esto escribió la queme....

  • Its wonderful.

  • A very nice piece!

  • this piece was from a Tom and Jerry episode haha

  • @xQuenne This piece is over a hundred and fifty years old. It's not possible for it to 'come from' a tom and jerry episode.

  • @lousycactus I think

Tom wrote it? He never quite gets the respect he deserves?

  • @xQuenne Tom and Jerry is from this piece ;)

  • This is a very good interpretation!

  • The perfect version, indeed.

  • WELL. He or she plays the rhapsody very WELL.

  • I was thinking about Cziffra... Really nice interpretation anyway :)

  • 5:15 ahhhhhhhhh~

  • Why can't modern music be more like this? I realized that everything modern artist that actually is somewhat good is strongly influenced by classical composers like this. But no one could ever be close to this musical geniuses that lived 200 years ago. I simply don't get how teenagers my age and even older can listen to their generic pop when there is real music like this in the world.

  • @satyrludi Well, it really boils down to how pop music gets them all ''pumped up'' and/or ''excited'' and ''emotional''. Pop music is actually an incredible accomplishment, in the way it can convey so much raw desires, wrap it up in a catchy rythm and make millions of people listen to it every day. Teenagers, especially, don't want (in general) to listen to technically amazing and complex music, but to satisfy their emotional impulses while listening to simple things that fit with their reality.

  • @Ashuvain I agree with you completely, You've made some real points.

  • Oh, God. There is a Woody Woodpecker cartoon where he plays this piece!

    It's insanely good!!

  • @abandeli So did Bugs Bunny AND Tom & Jerry. It's a great piece for build-up to a crescendo, lending itself perfectly to puppetry or animation. You can also take the good parts and edit them into a 3 minute cartoon, while still retaining the overall idea of the piece, AND leaving enough room for comic interpretation. Whew!

  • I feel as if I am in love

  • Alfred Brendel

  • Comment removed

  • @anatolbeck1992 this is the most desperate cry for a thumbs up i have ever read on youtube

  • but i still liked

  • this is off a little bit at the main part at friska

  • Tom & Jerry

  • @m3xIcAnD3mOn jajaja si...me es imposible escuchar la cancion y no pensar en ese capitulo

  • My guess would be Young Lin

  • @kalineback Yeah, probably this is Jung Lin's performance, maybe Brende. Either way, this is extraordinary and beautiful :-))

  • Amazing, prolific and talented. a genius at its best!

  • This is, in fact, how it must be played.

  • in fact ideal ... as if F Liszt played this in his own person ... incredible!

  • This is the one and only Vladamir Horowitz at Carnegie Hall in 1953. Best recording ever of this piece.

  • There's the cartoon with chickens laying eggs going "pok pok pok" to the tune around 6:00.

  • Liszt, Liszt, Liszt, music is eternity...

  • My mom plays the piano all the time, she loves playing this song, every time I hear it I think of her

  • @a26004 your mom is amazing then

  • Also this was in a Woody Woodpecker episode when these two robbers tried to rob a musical instrument store

  • I remember this in Tom and jerry too lol

  • Why does the tom and Jerry version have more views than this one ?

  • Thanks to AP euro! I found This amazing pianist!

  • this sounds like Maxim maybe? in my opinion

  • I wish my computer randomly had Liszt on it ;)

  • If I had to look up to a romantic figure It would have to be Liszt. So serious, yet so playful.

  • A nice performance, a shame that the piano has a few out of tune notes and that I don't know which musician this is.

  • *Romantic* Music. Not classical

  • @Valbuenium all the music before rachmaninov is considered like classical

  • @Wolferlest I believe you are mistaken... the romantic period actually intersects with the classical period; the classical period extends from 1750 to 1830, while the romantic period is from 1815 to 1910...

  • Liszt had such a good sense of humor about himself that I think he would have been very amused that Bugs and co. had grabbed this piece. Its very flattering when you think of it--and helped introduce a whole generation to classcial music--that's a good thing.

  • Now lets turn off the bunny and enjoy this spetacular piece! Full of 10 different melodies that Tchaikovsky would have been envious of!!

  • tom and jerry n bugs bunny!

  • IF all world people would understand and enjoy music like this , the world could be most better than now it is..:)

  • It is amazing what you find out you like when you actually take the time to expand your musical horizons.

  • @CurryCobra cant agree more

  • @migso the part changed is the cadenza, which can be improvised by the pianist if he wants to. The cadenza Liszt made was merely a suggestion.

  • A rapsodia mais linda ate hoje composta. Esta a par de "Sonho de Amnor" como uma das duas composicoes de Liszt que mais admiro.

  • inspired me to learn hungarian. but i need help. lol.

  • @bitunde Oh really, awesome!!!!

  • Its amazing how many atmospheres and emotions one man can create with one instrument. There was certainly more emotion than money invested into music nearly 200 years ago. the opposite is happening today.

  • @SteveIsTheMan1990 you are so right!

  • @SteveIsTheMan1990 tom and jerry!

  • @SteveIsTheMan1990 I agree, all that is invested in music today is money and maybe sex if we're lucky.

  • One of the most beautiful pieces of music of great emotional and artisctic value

  • Looney Tunes =]

  • the cadenza is perfect...is it Brendel's ad lib or is it a standard version? does anyone know

  • very well played

  • Very nice one. reminds me Tom & Jerry lol!!!! i like..

  • Liszt zenéjét egyszerűen nem lehet szavakban kifejezni. Csak hallgatni és élvezni!

  • Liszt named his rhapsodys ,,hungarian", but the sequence of these song is the ,,bőkvártos minor", and it comes from the gypsy music, because Liszt belived, what he heard in the salons, from the gypsy musicians, is the real hungarian music. BUT IT ISN'T TRUE! I'm hungarian, and I know, how the real hungarian music sounds, and it has got pentatonic sequence.

  • @jakemcguire777 lmao. History does not tell us how many Lisztomaniacs showed up to his concerts wearing nothing under their dresses, but you can be assured, Liszt had few lonely nights after playing songs like this one.

  • I am wondering how Liszt's face is gonna look like if he actually watched the Tom and Jerry episode that was made based on this piece of his. Liszt's wide grin from ear to ear =D

  • @blessedhomosapiens Yes, I think so too--he had a good sense of humor about himself-and would have laughed uproariously! And been tickled pink his wonderful composition being tied with a marvelous invention called animation.

  • zseni volt!

  • is it any wonder this dude pulled more tale than a retarded kid at a petting zoo? such incredible talent coupled with that "come hither" look in his eyes. even in the 1800's, chicks knew that hooking up with a dude who was amazing with his hands was a very good thing..

  • *very well.

  • biver, i love him. he's not a composer but he's with selena gomez

  • I is playing Libestraum.. Very good indeed

  • *----------------* i love this

  • very well. if he were donating to charity, he'd be doing good. he is performing in a high quality manner, so he's doing well.

  • this is epic :D!

  • It's Brendel playing

  • I love this guy

  • Victor Borge's version is better XD

  • proud to be hungarian

  • Ez igen!!

  • Reminds me of the cartoon Tom and Jerry

  • If you are looking for a certain iconic part that would be about 6:00

  • Csak most érzem igazán hogy milyen csodálatos dolog magyarnak lenni. Ez nem véletlenül Magyar Rapszódia *****

  • @methodicaljuan This is my all time favorite piece by this composer. You are right it is beautiful and brilliant.

  • WOW... THIS IS AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!

  • GAWD FINALLY ALL THE OTHER ONES ARE TERRIBLE QUALITY

  • fantastic

  • @migso Excuse me kind sir, but by all means; YOU CAN EAT A DICK!

  • @TheSoulOfGenius go fuck yourself asshoel you dont know shit, or anything about music.

  • @migso If you don't know that every other pianist has put in a cdence at the 9:15-10:00 section, then I don't know why you even think you know anything about this piece

  • @MrLieblingsessen fucvk yourself fag, theres only one way to play this song, its the right way, that literally sounded like shit, which i know u might be attracted to, but dont talk to me anymore, if you dont know shit, dont put that on me

  • @migso How about you learn how to spell before you starting talking music. From what I can tell (just looking at your channel) you are a washed up fuck living in his moms basement looking for a record deal. Grow up, stop being a fucking troll, get off YouTube, and secure yourself a job at the local McDonalds.

  • @TheSoulOfGenius spoken like a true american... piece of shit. i dont want a record deal, i live with my brother thank you. and i have fun listening to classical music, but the real thing about classical music, is how precise, awesome and accurate it is to the original composition, showing that the composer was truly a genius, and has method in his madness,

  • @TheSoulOfGenius where as the stupid douche bag who played this piece who you keep defending, murdered the piece, making liszt look like some random musical fuck up like yourself, i dont give a fuck if this piece was done by your mother, it sounds like shit, when u KNOW WHAT YOURE SUPPOSE TO BE HEARING. I'M SURE YOU INDULGE IN NOT KNOWING WTF YOURE SUPPOSE TO HEAR, but go back to being an english teacher, and leave the opinions to people with true passion.

  • @TheSoulOfGenius get a better youtube name, one that doesnt give you away as some 5 yr old fanatic idiot just cruising the internet not knowing what he suppose to be hearing, defending the careless retarded underdog, and fighting for nothing absolutely worth while. you think a live audience would applaud at that if they knew how hungarian rhapsody goes. i've heard since i was a kid, no one has ever fucked it up this bad, so fuck yourself, and you go to mcdonalds to secure your boyfriend.

  • @TheSoulOfGenius cuz i dont have to look at your channel to know youre an idiot, but you have to look at mine and try to nit pick, go fuck yourself, go defend some other idiot fuckin up a song some where else. one that isnt as important anyway.

  • @migso I understand that the artist preforming this wasn't accurate from what you perceive, but you could have at least have said so peacefully instead of violating the caps lock button and sounding as if you have no idea what you are talking about. For example, "This rendition was okay, but the performer failed to make this accurate. I noticed several cases where he made mistakes." Something along the lines of that. So just chill dude.

  • @migso why such hate? it's a version, it differs from all the other there are, because people are different. plus, I have seen a lot of hungarian rhapsody n. 2 versions and there seems to be 2 endings there, and this is one of them.

  • @walkis he could at least say in the title, hungarian rhapsody with TOTALLY DIFFERENT ENDING THAT DOESNT EVEN TRY TO RESEMBLE THE ORIGINAL PIECE.

  • Tom Cat plays the piano? ;-)

  • I'm American and I like this video :)

  • bugs bunny

  • @valioprea18 tom and jerry!

  • @n33dw33d3333 yes, and tom and jerry too

  • @ScrapComputer don't be a snob

  • @ScrapComputer i agree

  • Je suis presque certain que c'est Alfred Brendel au piano...

I am quite sure it's Alfred Brendel who plays...

  • Dude just shut up bout his history and enjoy his music.

  • @jazzkosova how is it 'perfect'? No offense i'm just curious

  • i love how this was used in cartoons that i watched when i was a kid.

    Tom and Jerry

    Bugs Bunny

and even Donald Duck and Daffy Duck in the film "who framed roger rabbit"

  • 1:16 :O

  • I love the dynamic and his/her technique is so mature :)

  • @foreverslovakia

You're so wrong. He always said about himself that he is hungarian. "List" is no slovak name, it's hungarian, because "Liszt" has a meaning. Do a research about his life and after that talk stupid things that you don't have a clue about.

  • @aljunidizlaaav

of course it is, grand fathr and father was slovak, THAT IS WHY HE WAS ORGON SLOVAK AND HE KNEW ABOUT IT AND he was christianed as LIST . HE DID NOT SPEAK HUNGARIAN AS WELL, SO SURE HE WAS NOT HUNGARIAN

    NO WAY

  • @aljunidizlaaav very true

  • AND HE IS LIST NOT LISZT

    HE IS SLOVAK

  • @foreverslovakia35 lol calm down

  • @foreverslovakia35

    Lol, Slovakia 16-17 years old.....

  • HE IS NOT HUNGARIAN, HE IS SLOVAK, WHO WAS SAYING HE IS SLOVAK

WHY DO YOU STEEL OUR SLOVAK HISTORY HUNGARIANS

  • @foreverslovakia35

Slovak history?HAHAHAXDXD Oh God XD... Give me your phone number and i send you the whole history of slovakia in SMS.:)

    *I'M OLDER THAN SLOVAKIA*

  • @MrBajoti You can shout as much as you want, dear Mongol boy, but Franz List (becase that was his real surname) spoke his father's language (Slovak) and his mother's language (German), and he also spoke French, but he spoke no Hungarian. By the way, we Slovaks had our history when you Magyar-Mongols were still hanging by your tails from trees somewhere in Mongolia. We Slovaks are Indoeuropeans, you are a completely different race - Turko-Tartars. And your place is in Asia.

  • @Panakeje I don't know if you can't tell how incredibly racist half of your comment was.

  • this is so beautiful. beyond words. beyond emotions. pure ecstasy.

  • Thank you Liszt!!!! Without this wonderful piece of music so many cartoons would have never been the same!!!

  • His piano teacher was making a liszt and checking it twice
