  • the mudd men is part of the orignal game. however those that are playig this after seeing that patheitc nes game need to be taught

  • they should remake this lol

  • 2:50 LOL!!! F-king room!! I know, I know!! Blew many qurters trying to get this one worked out!

  • for some reason Dragons lair makes me think of the giants drink game from the book Enders Game.

  • Aww, you were talking during one of the coolest Dirk moments. After he kills the Lizard King and takes some gold, he clears his throat with extreme nonchalance :)

  • Aw, they took out Dirk's freakout in the Black Knight room!

  • This castle is evil.

  • Love how this game was the spiritual predecessor for Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain :)

  • Damn, Dirk has quick reflexes. (Lizard King's Room)

  • hey guys, i just got the dragon's lair comic with the extra story woot!

though it is kinda short...but the artwork is badass! nice video btw i just wanted to see how the game is, cause it looks like a movie

and it looks pretty hard but anyway 5/5

  • this game kinda hard

  • Oh my god, the Lizard King's room was my all-time favourite in Dragon's Lair. Loved the action.

  • how come on some versions you can die on that board but start on a new board

  • My goodness ! You have a Spider's sixth Sense or something ?

  • No, just a LOT of practice.

  • I won a competition with this game..in the arcade spent loads getting it right but could get to the lair with 1 man and spend the next 4 racking up points then kill the dragon with the last 1...just over 400k i think. good post

  • this game was ahead of its time....very hands on.....

  • The narration is a little obnoxious, at times, but otherwise nice play though.

  • I've beaten the GBC version of the game, Frank, and it completely shuffles the entire scenelist and repeats some of them before the final scene of the game.

  • I've beaten the GBC version too. It does shuffle the scenelist, with each level going from easy to hard. But it doesn't repeat any scenes (remember, there are "mirror" scenes) except the ones that killed you are repeated at the end until you beat them--only then can you advance to the Dragon's Lair.

  • wow! this covers an area that I had never seen. You are really good at this game.I am now gonna watch part three and the end.btw: You rock!

  • Sonic: You're too sloooooow!

    Franko: Press left, right, attack...

    *Sonic's head is cut off*

  • When I used to play this game at the arcade, you could actually see which direction to move ie: a bright yellow light, I can't spot it at all in this? hmmm

  • 1:21 Yes that does look hard.

3:09 That background looks like the same one from Secert of NIMH. Don Bluth alright :)

"Not the Monty Python Black Knight, this guy will kill you." LOL

4:52 I remember that...I also remember Hanna Barbera made Princess Daphine much more...."household looking" too LOL

6:34 I forget do you know if Hanna Barbera named the dragon Singe or was that always his name.....oh nevermind better off not knowing LOL

  • Thanks for doing this I have looked everywhere on Youtube for a playthrough of Dragon's Lair

  • It's weird watching this you can't really tell what the player is doing.

  • I'LL BITE YOUR LEGS OFF!

surely THAT Knight from MP? XD

  • I hate how in the beggin of each room, he looks left then right

  • Ha ha!

  • dirk sounds like hes from the simpson family right after the rapids at first i thought it was homer himself

  • This castle is a contractor's nightmare.

  • this guy reminds me of my bro, ur a funny man!!! good comm

  • so how does this game play? It looks like cutscenes.

  • Its like RE4 interactive cutscenes except none of the buttons are shown and that is the entire game.

  • That bone crumbling made me dive behind the couch when my brother used to play. xD

  • Second weapon at the beginning was a flail....sowwy. :/

  • the way it was animated, it almost looked like a mace.

  • more like video compression's lair heh

  • can you play this game somewehere online I would realy like to try it

  • Hated this game.... yet oddly played it for hours on end!

  • He actually looks better when he turns into those lava guys

  • Its just a flesh wound...

  • xD hahaha!

  • man what a blast from the past I remember this game its all about the timeing man those old days gaming

  • what does OGT stand for?

  • Obscure Game Theater

  • I'am glad to see someone who understands the pure awsomeness of this game instead of bitching about how hard it is and how unresponsive the controls are. It just takes practice, you know? Anyways, great job on this game! By the way, what happened to your Time Warp vids? It would be great if you uploaded them again.

  • When I was 6, I remember watching my cousins playing this game on my grandma's computer. It was a bad PC, but you can't expect your grandma to have an amazing computer lol. Anyways this was probably the first video game I ever saw and I thought it was amazing. I still think it's great because of the use of cartoon animations as a video game.

  • GITTY GOON!!! >:O

  • When reading the description I misread: "To the lair of Single!" ..maybe because I thing that one have to be quite a lonely guy to be able to finish that game...so much time involved with all these trials and errors I guess? Thanks for the upload, anyway :) I played this game on the NES and never went far...the game was pissing me off! xD

    Cheers

  • aww i loved the monty python black knight

  • The one with the Lizard King looks very hard. That probably took you forever to master.

  • This is great where the hell was this guy when I was playing this in the arcade losing a small fortune..I just purchased this on blu-ray and it looks smokin...

  • On BluRay? For PS3?? That would be very interesting.

  • Digital Leasure has them available now for Blu-Ray and compatible with PS3.

  • why won't you die?

  • it would be awesome if Dragon's Lair 1 & 2 were made for the wii XD think about it!

  • WOW! Dude. I think I love you for that idea :o

  • @UltimateGamerCC yeah since mad dog mcree got on the wii it seems likely for dragons lair 1 & 2 and space ace to get on the wii as an 11 year old i think these animated video games are kind of cool and i realy want to try them

  • @UltimateGamerCC actually they do XD check on gamestop. XD

  • @UltimateGamerCC Your wish is now granted

  • @UltimateGamerCC And the Wish Has come True! called Dragon's Lair Trilogy! it even has Space Ace!

  • ah this is suce a awesome classic game i loved this game when i was a kid i used to be like this guy but i would never lose 1 life

  • Great stuff, frankomatic. Thanks.

  • 5:41 and 5:49 he sounds like Homer.

  • Yowza! You make it look so easy. Btw, those screams that guy does really are funny!

  • 'nte puorte' chiu'!!!o ziiiiiiiii

  • lol i laughed my ass off.

    Kill the sword..

    Kill the mace..

    Run away..

  • kill the the spear

    kill the smithy

    through the door

  • He screams like Homer Simpson!

  • Ah, I remember this game, my uncle used to play it all the time when I was little.

I loved watching him beat it. xD

I didn't know there was a second game though until it popped up somewhere on TV and so I was like "WHAT? D8" I watched the vids you had up of that one too.

I totally need to get both of them. xD

  • Goons? You from SA? I wish I had money to throw around to get an account :P. But as of now, there is no way Im gonna shell out 10 bucks for access to an internet forum.

  • your REALLY good at that game.

  • When you pause the game, and then unpause, it restarts the room, so you have a chance and don't screw up when you unpause. Space Ace does the same thing.

  • Yeah, I actually didn't know that. When I played on the real system I never bothered pausing. Nice, merciful little feature there.

  • Yeah, really it is. I wonder if this is in other versions.

  • Hey my brothers used to spend thier allowence every week, at the arcade playing this game. I was only four years old but I remember so clearly. I really enjoyed watching them play because I thought it was a movie that they could control....ahhh..memories..thanks for posting.

  • technically, it WAS a movie they could control.

  • Yeah I guess it was

  • I remember this game but I never played it, how does it work?? I mean, when you press up or down or press any button does he actually move or how does it work??

  • Certain actions require certain buttons. For instance, if your fighting an enemy, and your at the point where you actually kill him with the sword, you must hit the sword icon, any other button would get you killed.

  • Give it up with the first comment rubbish already. You kinda make it look like you need to be arrested for stalking rather then getting congratulated.
