Video would have been better of not on auto arpeture and steady without doing rolls over the centeral vault. The panning is slow enough to be tolerable. but the zooming is not so good. common amateur mistake.
It is not simply an organ in the "barock germna style". This is a masterpiece of a contemporary genius, maby the best of all organbuilders in the world: JURGEN AHREND. And it's build in the norg-german style, in a gothic style case, like a Fluegelaltar. A truly wonder...
Today many organbuilders all over the world can do a very good job in the field of the neo-baroque instruments.
But why then the most precious Schnitger organs (St.Cosmae in Stade, Jacobikirche Hamburg, Norden) or the organ in Hofkirche Innsbruck (fron 1558!) where given for repairs/reconstruction to Herr Ahrendt, not to Fisk (very good indeed -look at Wellesley College Chapel!) or others? Today Ahrendt is by far the best!
Is it at all possible that he is a lot closer than Fisk? Always best to use local people who can then look after their work and keep it in the best condition. Being selected for a job is sometimes based on practicality. Others were chosen before him - Right? ABout every 25 years or so. I think an independant is better than a company that might impose their policies on the instrument in stead of true restoration.
Fisk are very definitely romantic... and Reiger are just plain rubbish. I've heard a fair few of them and they've all been horrifically bland in tone.
To clear up about the church: It used to be the Augustinian abbey and now is a museum. It never was a cathedral. The Cathedral of Toulouse is a different building entirely, unmistakable for its incredibly disjointed choir vs. the nave. BTW, the finest organ in Toulouse is in yet another church, the C-C in the St. Sernin Basilica.

Please 'google' Augustins Museum if you're interested in the history of the church. My concern is "Did you enjoy the video?"

This is not a cathedral at all, this is a beautiful museum : Musée des Augustins.
The organ is in a barock german style.
