Is there a recording of this piece anywhere? I heard the Royal Scottish National Orchestra do it some years ago with Colin Currie on percussion and was completely blown away by it, and the whole concept of the music.

The Rouse was the first orchestral concerto I learned (just the 1st movement...and it took me all summer). From what I remember my set up was very similar to yours. I used the setup that Collin Currie used, but a totally different set up from Glennie. I also had a 2nd kick drum on its side next to the toms so I could play it with sticks. Funny thing is my buddy who performed the 3rd movement had a completely different set up than me.

Great job!!! Very clean and musical! I played the first movement in October of '09 - a very difficult piece to learn and perform. Bravo to you, Ben!

@timpanimckay Thanks! Yes, a very difficult piece. Definitely nerve-wracking only getting to rehearse twice with the orchestra too! :0 performed any other percussion concertos? I'd like to compare set ups sometime.
