  • great video can you do another one of a chicken quarter (or larger meal?) if possible to shoot the camera at the face/neck/chest area for the entire feeding process? I would really appreciate the help, I have heard raw feeding actually has many benefits for dogs but also heard the bones can get stuck sliding down their throats..

  • @ultimatemexicano3535 Thanks for watching. He wanders around while eating so it's not easy to get him to stay close to the camera. Not sure if you realized that those were chicken leg quarters in that video - he's bigger than he looks - about 140lbs at that age, and that's about 3lbs of meat. He breaks the bones all up before starting to gnaw off pieces. Give them pieces too big to swallow, and they'll chew them up real well. There are many raw feeding videos on here, look around! :)

  • hello. i feed my puppy chicken quarters for 2 days now, and he hasn't pooped. is that normal? also i hold onto the food while he chews or else i think he is going to choke on it. last time he chock on chicken breast.

  • @PunaniLicker69 Your puppy should be having normal bowel movements, but without more info, I can't guess what's going on. Holding onto the chunks you feed is good for puppies, helps them slow down and chew, and gives you the chance to make lots of eye contact. This helps with bonding, and will help your puppy look into your eyes for communication, which makes training easier.

  • i know your right i press cancel on the message but it must not have worked the bit he picked up fell into two an i tryed to cancel the massage nice dog man

  • chop it up a bit smaller

  • @djfairfield That's a common mistake that folks new to raw feeding often make. The bigger the piece, the more your dog will gnaw and chew, which cleans their teeth and gets the belly ready for digestion. Smaller pieces can be swallowed without such thorough chewing, which increases the chances of choking, and makes it more likely that the bones will be harder to digest. Larger pieces can discourage a timid dog, but ideally, they'll lie down and really take their time to chew it all up.
