Why is it that here lately seems like all steam engines have some kind of diesel unit behind it now? that plus the mixed matched train with several observation cars through in the middle!!! Use to be nice seeing a whole train in the daylight colors, now you get 3 or 4 cars that are and the rest whatever they seem to find laying around lol The Milwaukee Road cars, especially the observation, are cool however lol
@BamaRailfan i think the only reason they have diesels is to provide electric to the passenger cars as well as breaks ...i dont know much about this ..but this is just an assumption ..correct me if i'm wrong.

More than awesome! Love the foggy scenes! I really wish I had been around 40+years ago to see this kind of stuff in normal operation!
BTW..sounds like you need a tire rotation..or new tires! LOL

Also I wish that P42DC didn't have to be there..... Oh well though, such is modern day railroading..

i would have put the sp 1996 heritage unit on there to match colors

Good ears on the tire noise! I had to deal with it for my entire trip. Not my car, though, rental Pontiac.
I posted a video in December while she was doing the Holiday Express. Slower running, but no diesel in sight.

The train was going pretty fast in the second clip!

Track speed is 79 mph there. Don't know how close she was going to that, but I'm sure someone onboard (like Doyle) would know!
