Zionism is the idea that Jewish people should have a political state/national homeland. In the early years they discussed some other locations than Israel. I believe alot of the original Zionists were actually atheist. Today most Jews are somewhat Zionist.

Recently there are some Christians in the US who call themselves Zionists, because they follow the idea that Israel should be a Jewish state too.
