Does anyone else have the DVD version where you have to flip the disc over for the second half of the movie, then the surround sound doesn't work? Is the BlueRay version the same?
I fell in love with this movie only after watching it once. I believe this is my favorite part throughout the movie only because of how much depth and emotion there was in this scene. The sorrow that gripped me and made me almost cry in class when watching this left me breathless. This scene was truly amazing and the song being in the background was a perfect touch.
I cringed when they dropped his body into the common grave. This is probably one of the only movies I really really cried at the end. <3 Loveeee this movie so much,
@pauliegar It was standard practice in those days for commoners to be buried in unmarked graves such as this, unless they were very wealthy (which Mozart wasn't, due to his excessive lifestyle). It doesn't matter, we still remember him through his music.
Salieri didn't kill Mozart. (A doctor reviewed Mozart's symptoms & he likely died of kidney disease - possibly related to heavy drinking). Salieri was not a bad composer nor stupid; his music is still played today. There are not many people from any period of time who could have gone toe to toe with Mozart.
Lacrimosa, evocative of Mary lamenting as Jesus is brought down from the cross. There hasn't been a single time when I've herd this devine music and didn't have a tear stream from my eyes. It pulsates, it resonates from the great beyond. In the middle you see paradise, and then it closes in on you, crushing you with the suffering of the mourner. Bravo
amazing movie--this scene is so sad, yet so perfect in demonstrating the tragedy that comes with 'life', even for that of a genius whose gift was godly...this world is a tragedy for those that feel...and Mozart did indeed feel--all you have to do is listen...
It is my favourite scene from this film.. When she screams ,,Wolfie!" I feel cold shivers in my heart... And the funeral - it is so dark as if there were no more hope for Mozart, no other life, no resurrection.. Sad...
Lacrimosa is in my opinion the best requiem song ever created

@mbd2k8 It's the Lacrimosa, from the Requiem Mass. One of the most famous pieces of music in history.

The passing of a great man.....God why did you take him already!

The wife should have sold half of the possessions for at least a decent grave for Mozart...

One of the greatest historical films ever produced, and one of the greatest songs on film. It's hard to find his choral works.

why hate Salier? He was a good composer, and there is no proof he actually killed Mozart. The movie is not accurate ^^"

Can you tell music by Mozart from that by Salieri?
A Google search for "quiz mozart salieri" will bring you the quiz.

Even though it is a death and funeral scene, it is the best scene in the entire movie. The music matches the scene perfectly.
