  • Linda Keith, the woman credited with discovering Hendrix tried to turn Andrew Loog Oldham on to Jimi. In reference to the audition she wrote in her book "I told this record producer there was this fantastic guitarist and singer playing in the Village, and would he come down and listen to him because he's really going to like this a very materialistic man. And he came down. He thought I was mad. He did not see what I was talking about. When he saw Jimi he saw nothing."

  • Andrew Loog Oldham was the Stones manager at the time. He was heavily influenced by Anthony Burgess, who wrote A Clockwork Orange, and he liked to write Stones liner notes in a surreal poetic style somewhere between Burgess and Bob Dylan.
