  • Who else can pull off the quarter note bend on the fifth in a major tone song? 0:41

  • Estoy descubriendo a este tipo y es genial, cómo toca.

  • Yo man, can you please make this video downloadable. Thanks very much

  • There's another video on here of Gatemouth Brown playing the same show... I think that's him playing rhythm on the Rick.

  • @timtimminz Yes, that is Gatemouth on the Rick. Also, that's Billy Cox (Band of Gypsies) on bass.

  • Guitar like a red-hot iron, voice as smooth as cream. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

  • I like to watch these bluesie dinosaurs

  • His tone on "San-Ho-Zay" is absolutely KILLER.

  • Freddie is just fabulous! His guitar style is very original and distinctive and his voice is as smooth as silk! We miss him! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • @Dutchy1965

well except without ellington, holiday, tatum, and all the black jazz....where would we have gotten Glenn Miller?

  • Wow, what a video! Everything--guitar, vocals, and band--sounds great!

  • Freddie King has wicked chops! I see where Clapton gets a lot of his influence!

  • A complete master. This is some of the best out there. Tone, control, speed, technique, !feeling! Guitar school. Really well shot video. Go buy it.

  • Oh yes...now you're talking! Thankyou for putting this up; Freddie was a giant in more ways than one.

  • Used to live in Austin and he came into town all the time in the 60's and 70's. What an enormous talent. As Clapton said, "Freddie King taught me all I ever needed to know."

  • Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page wish they could play the guitar like Freddie King.

  • His intrumentals were so awesome that his incredible voice gets overlooked. The way he sings "Have you ever loved a woman?" is incredible.

  • 1 of the most important guitarist ever.clapton,beck,iommi,may,perry,page,schultz,etc...

  • Sheesh... was Freddie ever good. The greasiest, tastiest phrasings ever laid down. What an amazing talent.

  • Oh yeah, the real deal for sure! What a lineup!

  • Freddy King at his peak. The band was from Nashville as was DJ/MC Hoss Allen.

Billy Cox was the killer Bass player who was a few years later in "The band of Gypsys" with Jimi Hendrix.Dig that FUNKY drummer....The great Gatemouth Brown is fronting this band....I wore out my videoof this performance. In spite of all the stupid lame comments you read on Youtube...Fredy King was on top of the heap...For so many reasons...Find out yourself...

  • I think you can get this on vhs or dvd the whole performance. try ebay

  • He's using a finger pick (on the end of his finger) and usually used a thumb pick also.

  • Plastic thumb pick/medal finger pick...for those who care about such details.

  • This is the BEST video on youtube. I love how he's all about NOT blowing his cool at the break at 1:15...just be cool, man. Thank God for youtube!
