  • Cheryl was better on the show. I never took Farrah seriously as a cop/detective. Plus, Cheryl had the best chemistry with Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and David Doyle.

  • Cheryl Ladd is smoking hot in this clip ! & she comes across as a smart woman :-D

lol , lipgloss seems was in fashion late 70's also , as today.

  • I would have banged her back then

  • i know cheryl and kate didnt get along and she and kaclyn welcomed shelley and tanya as replacements

  • Geez Mike is boring. Not even the magnificent Cheryl Ladd can save this dog.

  • One of the most beautiful and appealing women to ever hit the TV screen. This is what helped her successfully step into the role of the 3rd Angel. Also, she and the wriiters were very smart about doing it. If there was a rift on that set, she handled it with a lot of class!

  • @screenwitch She trumps pretty much every single female I have ever seen on screen. Not just the looks, but something about here sets her aside.

  • As it is with most disagreements between people, there is ALWAYS more than one side. If Kate and Cheryl didn't like each other, for whatever reasons they had, it's their own business. I'm a huge Kate Jackson fan, but I like Cheryl a lot too. Both are talented and beautiful women in very different ways. Oh, and I have to add that Jaclyn's personality seemed to be the sweetest and most gentle.

  • Have to say if Kate and Cheryl didn't get on offscreen,it didn't show on screen.

Cheryl Ladd was really the only replacement Angel accepted by fans.

  • at the time I was in love with Farrah so I didnt like cheryl, but today I must say she was GORGEUS, absolutely

  • I always liked the Cheryl Ladd, Kate Jackson, and Jaclyn Smith Angel team the best.

  • Great! this is so intimate & close up.I started watching Charlie's Angels regularly in 1977 because of Cheryl Ladd. Before I would have only watched it occasionally.Cheryl has so much sex-appeal.The feud with Cheryl & Kate Jackson was even visible on the screen.Such a shame that it occured & that they wern't friends on or off-screen.

  • Just wanted to add that Cheryl was delightful here & in the way she read her little line. Something came to mind: she mentioned being in The Rookies which was Kate's show. They also co-starred in SATANS SCHOOL FOR GIRLS so maybe the feud goes back further than Charlie's Angels? At any rate it's great that Jackie got along with everyone.

  • Whoa! Was Cheryl nervous at 5:10 or what?! Back then I read in the press that Cheryl treated Shelley the same as Kate as done to her & that Cheryl was behind Shelley's firing. I don't know if that's true but that stuck with me whereas I wasn't aware of a Kate/Cheryl feud.

  • @SamHillFilms I kind of see what you are talking about @ 5:10. I'm thinking that Jaclyn, who is probably as kind and sensitive and good-hearted as they come, was trying to be diplomatic and make Cheryl feel good. Cheryl, on the other hand, understood what was being said on a level that Jaclyn did not intend. And that is that Kate did not make it easy on Cheryl. Jaclyn liked them both, but Kate only liked Jaclyn and Cheryl knew it. Very perceptive of you, picking up on that little bit!

  • yes amazing how kate left the shot for cheryl... i dont know why other than she didnt like farrah leaving and resented the 3rd angel.. i think she wanted to go with 2 angels when farrah left.

  • Thank you *so* much for posting these angels interviews. Where on earth did you get them??

  • The rating were strong right away on "Charlies Angles". Farrah's fame eclipsed both Kate Jackson and Jacklyn Smith the first season, especially during the summer of 1977. The reruns were number one. All the talk about will Farrah return or won't she return built up the gossip. Cherly Ladd did a great job! I prefer the original 3 but that's just me. Everyone has there favorite.

  • Yes, I remember those summer reruns. They caused me to be an even BIGGER fan.

  • Funny that Kate conveniently left to do a scene...she didn't get along with Cheryl. You can sense it. And check out Cheryl's non-response when Mike mentions Kate. Jaclyn was always nice to her.

  • Cheryl will always be my favourite ^^

  • After all these years Kate still can't let go of her emnity towards Cheryl. Kate nixed a 30th anniversary reunion special that Henry Winkler tried to organise. Cheryl said: "I don't want to talk about that. But let me put it to you this way -- I was up for it. You'll have to ask the other ladies how they felt about it. But I do think people would like to see us together again."

Not if Kate can help it.

  • Really? Didn't know that. Hate to hear it. Well, I guess a reunion at the upcoming TV Land Awards is out, too. I heard Jaclyn and Cheryl are going to be there, plus there will be a tribute to Farrah, but looks like Kate will be staying home.

  • Did you know that in 2006, Kate Jackson blocked Cheryl Ladd from being included in an "Angel reunion" onstage in tribute of Aaron Spelling. Kate insisted it only be the three original Angels hand-in-hand onstage. She said she wouldn't do it if Cheryl was involved. Cheryl said later she was upset she wasn't allowed to be included. It shows how petty Kate Jackson is.These days she's something of a recluse. The show's legacy was bigger than her dislike of Cheryl, if only she could have seen it

  • @deepspace33 She said she wouldn't do it??? I'm shocked! I'm also very disappointed in Kate. It's been over 30 years. WHY is she still holding this grudge??? There was no reason for it to begin with. So Cheryl replaced Farrah? Someone had to, or else the show would've gone off after one year. Maybe that's what she wanted. Thanks for telling me about that.

  • Charlie's Angels only got popular in the Nielsen ratings when Cheryl stepped into the series. Kate Jackson is a very jealous woman. Her dislike & attitude is very apparent when the time came for Cheryl's entrance. Kate should get offer her high horse & come down to earth.

  • she has the right ..SHE was supposed to be the STAR of "Angels"....they screwed her around....I luv Cheryl but they kissed her but , and wouldnt let Kate do movie (Kramer vs Kramer)

  • Cheryl Ladd is the ultimate angel I love all the original 3 Kate, Jaclyn, Farrah.

    But Cheryl was freakin HOT!

  • I agree, she still is sexy at 58

  • I don't really care. It's not exactly something I have on my mind all the time. I've always liked both Kate and Cheryl. I grew up with "Charlie's Angels", and my feelings toward them has not changed. If I correctly recall, I was answering someone's question in the first place.

  • I've read books, magazines, and seen various interviews with Cheryl.

  • I love Cheryl much more than Farrah! CRIMNEY! I KNOW!

  • Hands down my favorite Angel ... love Cheryl.

  • Watch at around 5:10 when Jaclyn does give Cheryl credit for stepping into a difficult situation. It has been written that it took some time before there was a comfort level and I think here you can see that Jaclyn and Cheryl are bonding.

  • Cheryl could last until the show finally ended because of Jacklyn. In a recent(ish) interview, she said Jaclyn was a bud. I think her contribution to the entire series was just tremendous yet it's always Farrah regarded more highly and receives all the creadit which, from my point of view, is unfair.

  • I agree ... I love Farrah but the reality is she was only there one year and she can't be credited with the show's legacy. If that were case, it wouldn't have lasted five years.

  • I am totally with you. As you do, I love Farrah. The thing is if Cheryl was invited to all these appearances, especially on Emmy's for Aaron Spelling's tribute, along with other casts, it would have been fine. Unlike Shelly Hack who is no longer in the business, Cheryl is still a working actress. I know the whole "ORIGINAL" stuff but I think Cheryl should receive more respect for her dedication to the show.

  • I agree. Cheryl is glossed over all the time, which is so wrong. There is no excuse for that. Not only did Cheryl step into a very difficult situation, but the show actually went up in the ratings after she came.

  • Yeah, a lot of people keep forgetting that when Cheryl Ladd replace Farrah, the second season of the show ratings were just as high as the first season. I think it was a smart move on Mr. Spelling's part by casting Cheryl as Farrah's younger sister. I think if she was just replace as another detective it wouldn't had been as interesting, especially when Farrah made her future guest appearances on the show. Not only that, but Cheryl & Farrah (ironically) had good chemistry as well on the show.

  • I totally agree! Farrah was awesome but she chose to leave and Cheryl was given a chance to save the show...and she did..quite well! I love Cheryl!

  • I loved this.thank you for posting it.

  • Behind the scenes, Kate never really fully accepted Cheryl Ladd, or took to her, as Jaclyn did. She could be quite cold towards her, and Cheryl has said she found her to be very intimidating. She also said working with her was a daily challenge. They were never friends behind the scenes, and in Cheryl's words, it was all about getting the work done.

  • Yes...Kate was not nice to Cheryl...which I don't quite understand that..it wasn't her fault that Farrah quite...I LOVED Cheryl on the show...just as much as Farrah!

  • Cheryl had a mismatches with Kate? what happened? I never like so much Kate, but what went wrong?

  • I admire Cheryl all the more after learning what she went through behind the scenes. She handled it well, and she's just darling in this interview.

  • In fairness to Kate while I do think from everything I've read that she and Cheryl weren't exactly friends, Kate's problems with CA extended far and beyond Cheryl Ladd. I think she was more agitated than the other three (including Farrah of course) that the show was being seen as nothing more than "jiggle TV" - I think she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress and CA didn't allow her that type of outlet. So when she lost out on Kramer vs. Kramer because of it - that was the last straw.

  • In 2000, Cheryl Ladd said the following of working with Kate Jackson: "It was a challenge on a daily basis. If people knew what really went on with her ... they don't want to know." Kate's pointed departure before Cheryl is interviewed says it all. But this interview reveals Cheryl's tough, smart character. Her replacement of Farrah has to rank as one of the most successful entrances to prime time TV ever. Good on her. And good to see Jaclyn vouch for her too.

  • Ok they didn't get along, even Jaclyn said Kate was like a bully with Cheryl but what does it matter? She's a great actress.

  • I reply to myself to say that actually Jaclyn ddn't say that (sorry) but Edward J. Lakso.

  • I agree the transition was very very smooth ... there haven't been too many shows that pulled that off since then. It says a lot of about the talent of a cast when that can happen. That would have killed some shows, but this was a case where I think it made it stronger.
