I am getting the Sanyo Xacti VPC-TH1 for christmas! I think it's a good camera... do you like it?

I've seen it, but if you don't care about an external mic, why don't you go with the VPC-FH1? It has less zoom, but much better picture quality and smoother recording settings. PS: The 16x optical/160x digital zoom has been plently from the HD2000.

What do you mean by an external mic? The thing is the other ones are WAY to much money! For plane spotting and a few other things I don't want my parents paying $500...

You cannot plug in a mic on either the TH1 or FH1. The FH1 only costs $389. The TH1 costs $300.

Sanyo HD2000. It had 16x vs. 20x zoom, but the low light sensitivity and indoor level of noise was better than the JVC. Thanks for your help though! I really appreciated it.
