sorry, but one thing i dont understand in hospital labors...WHY always they give epidural that easy and all kind of drugs? ok...human beings are not meant to have birth in hospitals. it makes labor worse, because all ppl around the woman makes it impossible for her to relax. when i gave birth , they send me home first because i was not ready. when i was home i could relax and all of the sudden had NO more pain! birth does not have to be painfull, when you can totally relax!

A good size is 7 or 8 lbs. Under 5 lbs and the baby stays in the hospital. 10 lbs and over too dangerous means mom could be diabetic.

they had to break my water for me because i went into labor at law school during a minor quiz but to break my water the midwife stuck her hands in and the other doctor stuck a long stick up and broke my water and i felt a gush and a screamed a little. i was scared and the the pushing. they told me to push to ten and i did, it was so painfull. i was hurting so bad. then my midwife presses on my back really hard so my pain wouldnt be towards my bottom half but that made me scream so hard.baby=pain

i saw this when it was on TV. i was actually in labor, we ( me and my boyfriend) were watching it while i was giving birth. I'm 20 now and i was giving birth then when i was 15.

Prolly cuz it was such a big baby, but still. I keep bouncing between a natural birth or springing for the epidural... But it really did look like it was pointless for her. :[

Yikes. I'm having my first baby in June and I'm pretty sure I want an epidural, but it's a surprise to see it not working so well! Most people I've talked to say it's wonderful though.

yes...having a baby hurts a lot. the level of pain depends on your body and how big the baby is. some women are screaming like crazy, others don't make a sound. as for the epidural, yep, you don't feel a thing. you can even take a nap during labor until you have to push.

Yes actually we think it wasn't applied correctly and it wore off in less than an hour. Awful.
