  • So anyone who isn't just like Levin is some sort of evil, stupid Marxist traitor. I have 1000x more respect for Powell than any two bit ideologue and his bogus talk radio show.

  • Hey Flashman1973 The programs were fannie/freddie which was started by Carter and strengthened by Clinton.

And used Acorn and Nobama as their brown shirts.

If the conservatives tried to do annything they would be called racist. The left will go as low as needed to win.

They have no shame or morals.

  • Majorities do not trump the FILIBUSTER. and in key election years, while the economy was good, DEMOCRATS SCREAMED racism when oversight into Fannie Freddie were clearly heading toward disaster..

Why should Americans have left the finance committee to solve the crisis which in LARGE PART they were to enept to see what was coming down the pipe in the first place. This is a CRISIS which needed all hands on deck, not fumbling idiots like pelosi, Frank,Reid, and Dodd, whose hands in the cookie jar

  • I did watch it, And we all think the same thing.

For such an intelligent man, He makes the loosest weakest case Ive ever seen. could you imagine If he used such vague platitudes in front of the U.N.?

"I think he is a transformational figure"

"He is a new generation coming"

"Because of his ability to inspire"

"Because of the inclusive nature of his campaign"

"Because he is reaching out all across America"

    "Because of who he is"

    "His rhetorical abilities"

"He has both style and substance"

  • What is neglected here is that there was a lot more to this interview than what you list, such as Obama's reaction to the financial crisis, the Republicans' attack only, no idea politics, the selection of a completely empty VP pick, etc.

  • Excuse me? Obama's "non-challant" reaction to the economic crisis is hardly a qualification of valor. Remember? "Just call me if you need me"

and once he did get there, Democrats through him the ball and he dropped it the very first day. They ran out to the press and tried to blame republicans, when HE was the one responsible for the debacle. and Palin is TWICE the human being that Biden is. 30 years in the Seanate and he doestn know the constitution, the roles of Pres/VP

  • "Remember? "Just call me if you need me""

Funny thing, neither Obama, nor McCain sits on the finance committee, so neither needed to be there for anything but the vote.

"when HE was the one responsible for the debacle"

Right, the Democrats, who have now been in power for 19 months in the House and Senate, are more responsible than the Republicans, who held majorities in both houses for the prior 13 years, AND the presidency for 6... Good one...

  • Yes, and look how long it took to totally crash the entire economy! This was a planned sabotage to assist in the election of a democrat to the whitehouse. (my opinion, but I called this last february)

  • Actually the Democrats started this in the Carter Administration! I hope you have heard of the Community Reinvestment Act? The Act that told all banks to give loans to people who had no credit and couldn't afford them? It was because of that bill that people couldn't pay their mortgages and lost their houses! People lost trust in banks, took their money out and then the banks went bankrupt! Clinton was the second person to give this thing more power! It was because of him that banks...(contd...)

  • It was because of Clinton that the banks couldn't merge or do business with each other because they had to meet the mortgage requirements first! Bush and the Republicans realized this, John McCain first, in 2003! It was the Democrats who called them racists and against main street, AND LOOK WHAT WE HAVE NOW! IT IS THE DEMOCRAT'S FAULT. And then Obama was budding in Chicago as the lawyer for ACORN who was defending this bill! (contd)

  • The banks wanted to pull out because they knew they were going to fail too! But no, Obama comes along with ACORN to FORCE IT BACK AND PUT US IN WHAT WE HAVE TODAY! Then he blames BUSH AND REPUBLICANS WHO WERE TRYING TO STOP THIS! IT IS THE DEMOCRAT'S FAULT that the banks are failing. Not the Republicans.

  • Yes it is the democrats fault because it was the dems policies that created this mess and the republicans couldnt stop it.

    Its on video moron.

  • Wow, welcome to 4 months ago...

"it was the dems policies that created this mess "

Really? What policies were those exactly?

" the republicans couldnt stop it"

Amazing, the Republicans held majorities in BOTH houses of Congress for 13 years, and the presidency for 6, and you're telling me that they didn't have the power to change these "disastruos Democrat policies" in all that time??? You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

  • Al least you admit the dems did have bad policies you moron.

  • How you been awake for the last 4 months??

Hearing are all over youtube about republicans trying to stop this trainwreck and the liberal blacks and homosexuals denying any problems. Even of course playing the race card as in "Lynching Raines"

  • "30 years in the Seanate and he doestn know the constitution, the roles of Pres/VP"

Really??? Give me the article in the Constitution where is says that the VP has "more powers in the senate if the VP should so choose to excercise them" as Palin said... Please...

  • BIDEN EXPERIENCE SAYS: "role of the vice president ... and as vice president, to preside over the Senate, only in a time when in fact theres a tie vote. The Constitution is explicit.

Article I, Section 3: The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate.. shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

Yes, that says PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE. Which means they can site there in that chair EVERY DAY the sentate convenes.

  • "Yes, that says PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE. Which means they can site there in that chair EVERY DAY the sentate convenes. "

Right, "sit there in that chair" doesn't mean "get in there with the senators and effect real good policy changes." Like Palin said...

  • A perfect clip for morons... He only plays the part of Powell's interview that lists the minutae of the reason for his endorsement, and his attacks on the slime camapign. For those who want to see what Powell REALLY said, in FULL, watch his whole speech, either on the Meet the Press site, or on youtube...

  • He starts by saying Powell is irrelevant, then says that he waited until October to have "maximum impact"... Which is it???

  • he is an irrelevant figure to conservatives, but its the MEDIA MAXIMUM IMPACT, how long can we use clips and "above the fold" headlines to make independants and swing votes that they are RIGHT to vote Obama. Powell himself is irrelevant. Its the spin and bias which has an impact.

  • "how long can we use clips and "above the fold" headlines to make independants and swing votes that they are RIGHT to vote Obama."

Probably about the same amount of time that we can continue to listen to that dunce Palin repeat, "who is the REAL Barack Obama?" at every rally without saying ANYTHING substantive other than endless droning references to Joe the (not even a) Plumber.

  • I'm so glad The Great One had the balls to come out and say why Powell is supporting Obama out loud. Not many, if any, would.
