  • I thought Australian's don't have any rights? To my understanding they have no civil rights they better get ready to be oppressed.

  • So how did it turn out?

  • send me the video

  • I heard they were working to form a collation with the drugs and rocknroll parties.

  • If I didn't knwo who to vote for, I would really vote for them just because I want to show the other parties that they're doing bullshit.(Here in Germany)

  • check out or parody of the election

    sex party no.1

  • I just did an early vote. Sex party number 1

  • "where serious about sex" love it!

  • The ASP is much broader than just sex, visit there website, they are a civil libertarion party, who are the new face of Australian democracy. There policies are put forward by their the Australian public , for the public, and with the best interests of the Australian people in mind. For too long our politician's of our 2 major parties have ignored the voice of the Australian people, now its time for our voices to be herd.

  • You know running a country involves more than just sex, right?

  • I'll join if you change your name from Australian Sex Party to something less awkward

  • @SourPeach if you're that uncomfortable simply about the word "sex" then this party probably isn't for you.

  • @SourPeach The Something Less Awkward Party sounds a bit odd, but it does have a great acronym: SLAP.

  • We've got Australian citizens starving in squaller in the outback, homeless, crime, unemployment, whole neighboring countries being wiped out by dictatorships and wars not to mention australian capitalism raping their economies and communities AND YOUR WHINGING ABOUT NOT GETTING ENOUGH PORN, PROSTITUTION AND SEX? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? get your priorities straight you spoilt pathetic excuse for australians.

  • @girass

go on, name one then, name a country being wiped out by dictatorship.

this is the single most retarded comment I have ever read... I'm ashamed to have australians as blindly stupid as you in our country. Go to the US, they like your kind there.

  • @SourPeach i sympathies with your analogy, but i don't think you got the idea of my post, i was simply pointing out there are more important things to base an entire political party on than less censorship on perverted websites.

  • @girass Such as fishing and shooting?

  • @girass Such as fishing and shooting?

  • @girass agreed

  • It's amazing that politics has gone so backwards in this country that we've gotten to the point where the Sex Industry has become the only rational voice in Australia.

With policies that are just common sense; legal euthanasia, legal gay marriage, throwing out that stupid internet filter proposal and removing religious interferance in goverment, it's hard not to want them in power.

As a marginal party common sense works. This with good economic management I'd like them to take power.

  • WOW! That's cool!

  • I agree there's nothing wrong with having sex. Normal hetrosexual consential sex is part of a healthy relationship and lifesyle, free from the anxieties, self esteem issues and depressive illnesses proven to be caused by the very things this party stands for. I find it hilarious that you ignore the mountain of evidance that contradicts everything this party stands for. I'm so glad you wont be in parliment... bring on the more beer party though..

  • @dawesi i'd say that gays are a lot happier in relationships than in gay concentration camps... please explain how if one guy fucks another guy they'll both suddenly get really depressed and stress the fuck out.

  • the 4 who disliked this are communists

  • Australia could be a very boring place...

if the people has that rate time to create a giant joke like this...XD

  • @peterd127 so you'd like the government to filter your entire countries' internet? of course, clearly anybody that doesn't want this can't be serious!

  • @ReasonableBro so yu don't get it, do yu?

  • @peterd127 i think YOU don't get what it is that this party actually stands for.

  • Good luck guys!

  • I am willing to nominate myself for the position of Minister of Sexual Affairs...message me...lets talk!

  • Everyone knows the best parties are sex parties!!!

  • bitch!

  • wait so.. all they want to do is support the availability of pornography? =S

  • its more about freedom of speech mate.

  • mm but freedom of speech becomes a bit gray when it comes to something like that.. considering that a lot of the women in pornography are being/have been exploited.. like women who are in poverty or are drug addicts. I think to support the growth of the porn industry could also be to support the growth of the availability of an unfortunate and regretful option for people who need help. Do you really like the idea of porn scouts seeking out your daughter or something? *shudder*

  • thats a very condescending view of employees in a legitamite industry, not to mention sexist. ive never seen anything even remotely like what you are talking about, and im thinking maybe you have porn confused with prostitution.

if you dont like porn, thats fine, dont watch. just dont try to impose that view on anyone else. if a person is over 18 they can make these choices for themselves, irrespective of your own (or the governments) opinions. how about we start treating adults like adults.

  • Comment removed

  • @moyga if you can't tell the difference between fucking someone and watching someone then you really have issues mate. and why would it matter if adult films were being produced in your area? what do you think they stick up a giant neon sign saying 'we are filming heaps of porn now'

  • @AussiePolitics

    You have misunderstood me..

I didn't say that watching someone have sex and having sex are the same thing.

I said that prostitutes get payed to have sex and so do porn stars.. whats so controversial about that? I'm not against pornography at all. I was only concerned about people who end up having to do it as a last resort because they are poor or whatever, but that was a year ago.

  • i joined, breast thing i ever did

  • i can never understand religious people who hate sex partys butt love to murder people in war, isnt that a bit two faced, i could be wrong

  • Religious people supporting war and destruction while being against harmless things like porn and pre-marital sex is unfortunately nothing surprising.

  • why cant you understand that? religious people do whatever was written in their holy book by impoverished, semi-literate goat herders thousands of years ago. it cant be taken seriously as any guide to life.

if they managed to get anything right its only by coincidence, "even a broken clock is right twice a day". these are the people that gave us the rules to keep slaves, and the punnishments to homosexuals, and who narrated some profound moral stories to us like the wordwide flood.

  • @bender970 you're an idiot...

  • What do you have to do to join the Australian sex party?

  • that should be, "good ruck rith the rext erection"...

  • Good luck with the next erection

  • @deekeeley83 love the pun!

  • @deekeeley83 ahahahahaha hahaha fuck thats funny

  • @deekeeley83 hahahah

  • @deekeeley83 LMAO !!! Thats the best comment i have read in ages...

  • @deekeeley83 classic

  • Even though i hate sex, if these guys are ready to battle the silly religious coots that try and tell me what the right thing to do is, im going to vote sex.

  • ASP - Conservative by day, Liberal by night, 9months later in Labour! Waiting to see what kind of political "positions" and "thrust" they are going to take. Are they going to be "rooted" in reality? Will they have a conservative fiscal policy and go for the one in the hand rather than 2 in the bush? I love these guys!!

  • i'll join in 2 years.

  • I would join it if I were Australian <3

Wish you good luck on the next election :]

  • Join the Australian Sex Party?

    Don't mind if I DO!!!

  • I predict the sex party will take 21 seats away from Labor at the next federal election.

  • This is good news. I think I'll vote for them! I'm getting sick and tired of all these conservatives and religious minorities thinking they are the "mainstream". There needs to be a bit of balance put in place now.

  • This is a good idea.

Kind of similar to the Secular Party of Australia though

  • yer gay!

  • Sheesh the discussion gets nasty quick when this subject is raised!

Great job on the launch to all involved. I can't wait to see the word 'wowsers' used in parliament!!!!! ;-)

  • The hypocrites, men and women, are from one another; they enjoin (on the people) Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief and polytheism of all kinds and all that GOD has forbidden), and forbid (people) from Al-Ma'rûf,(i.e. all that GOD orders one to do),and they close their hands (from giving or spending in GOD's Cause). They have forgotten GOD, so He has forgotten them. Verily, the hypocrites are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to GOD)

  • at least "sex party " gives a fairly honest idea of its ideals whereas "family first" really should be called "bigotry first" or maybe "Packer family first" ....

  • Cool!

I live in Holland, but I like the Australian SP a lot better that the Dutch SP (Socialist Party) ;-)

  • From my observations the only reason our society in the media and politics tends to lean to the right is because of the loud-majority, not necessarily the actual majority. In short, it's the extremists that influence the laws, while most Australians are too laid back to even care enough to speak up.

Still early days and there need to be more policies, but so far this is an interesting idea.

    Good luck.

  • Screw the christian lobby groups. Maybe if the Church organizations actually PAID TAXES they'd have a right to even have their religious beliefs voiced in public as institutions.

It's about time atheists, free thinkers & those interested in freedom joined together to combat the perverts ( the anti-sex christians are self loathing deviants usually themselves ) & bigoted archaic views they seek to push on the rest of us.

  • Furthermore you will be attacked by the rightwing Christians as the personification of moral decay in Australia. You must maintain a moral stance upon the preservation of safe, responsible and educated sex choices to instil a sense of normality so people who agree to vote for you do so without stigma. Small issue based steps at first. Issues such as the internet filter but make sure you are very clear to create clear boundaries against porn and predatory illegal deviance.

    Good luck

  • The attack began before we even registered.

I agree and I hope we can introduce policies that are effective in reducing the availability of illegal material such as child porn and reducing other sexual crimes through education and law reform.

  • I have read your policy platform and in essence I mostly agree. I feel to maintain an air or credibility to counter the rightwing Christian lobby, you must appeal to a sense of fairness without alienating people with more radical lines of thought. Allowing foreign sex workers to immigrate for employment will not cut it in mainstream Australia. The party must have platforms that distance the brown paper bag stigma to define sex without the baggage of perversity such as child porn.

  • How serious?

  • =| xo

  • This party is an insult to Australia's intelligence.

Or maybe its a reflection of.

  • What is an insult to our intelligence is having hill song and all the other right wing Christians dictating morality by political influence with money. Maybe these people can provide some balance. I like sex, I dig porn, I am moral and not a pervert. Who speaks for me when the ALP wants to filter the net from content the moralists consider wrong? What next political views, filtering your interest in Timor?

  • I agree that with you that christian groups have too much power in Australia.

Internet filters are a tool for the government to quelch dissent.

Anyone who says they dont like porn is lying. Whats your point?

Everyone likes sex. Having a sex party is like having a party for breathing.

They are either using sex as a publicity stunt or if the party is really based on issues about sex it is almost irrelevant to the problems we face in Australia today.

  • I think you misunderstand the meaning of the metaphor.

    And I said almost irrelevant.

Yes, sexual freedom is very important.

But civil liberties as a whole are much more important.

I think mudering millions of Iraqis, capturing and torturing people in secret, and the tyrannical anti-terrorism laws passed in Australia after 911 are slightly more pressing matters today.

  • Well I care equally as much, about those issues but ask yourself this mate, The most important way to fight such laws and indifference is to start politically especially in the senate. So it is incredibly important to have people in there to obstruct stuff implemented by the neocon, Christian moral majority. The major partys wont help you, Steven Conroy implements the right of the ALP caucuses will. Independents parties can provide the ultimate balance on such issues.

  • I agree. My objection is that this party won't challenge the most influential policies on Australian life.

If it does, great. But I highly doubt it.

  • @foolmetwicethemovie

    gay marriage

    imiigration

    censorhip

    those are major issues

  • I misunderstand the meaning of the metaphor? I think you have no understanding of sarcasm, To say such a thing is an affront on freedom of speech, which should be a core ideology of an objective documentary maker, It is the pillar of journalistic integrity.Intelectual snobery sticks out like a sore thumb on Youtube. Whets the difference between someone saying that your core issues are irrelevant?

  • I cant be bothered getting in to a fight on youtube.

I said important to Australia, not you as an individual.

If this party satisfies you. Great.

Its just annoying that a new party gets publicity, not because of the relevance of its policies to Australia, but because it has sex in it's name.

  • Well I busted my ass to get this government elected as a member of the left and just got served up with this internet shit so considering the current political landscape at least I know who is getting screwed here. Do you vote below the line? Its an Australian tradition to have issue based lobbyist parties that only address singular issues elected on a platform issue. Publicity, well I am in advertising and I can vouch that sex sells any issue despite the socio-political relevance.

  • Im glad. Because Howard was a war criminal.

    Vote below the line??

  • I absolutely agree with you there. The war for Oil and wheat. Anti worker, union, racist and some. I guess with me the ALP was the better of two evils. I interviewed Hawke during the election and he was completely aghast at how regressive Howard was and was truly disgusted by the war. A great doco at the moment is The Howard years on ABC check it out. Below the line as in direct all your preferences. Cmon its one of the great joys of the political process, putting the absurd Fred Nile last.

  • Lesser of two evils alright.

Is it a great doco? I would have thought interviews with Howard trying to salvage his reputation, probably through more lies, wouldnt be my type of documentary ;)

Just looking at his face makes me want to throw up.

I vote depending on the choices each election ')

If the sex party has the best policies I will vote for them.

  • Have you seen it? It is a chronological account of his time in power, a documentary warts and all account. Like the one they did on the ALP. To be truly credible on any subject you must listen to both sides to understand underlying motivation essential to any factual account otherwise you are stating opinion. For a doco maker you demonstrate a very closed mind by that statement and a lack of understanding the basis of research. You sound more interested in opinion than fact.

  • true, and it was why we chose the name. However I think our policies have also received reasonable coverage

  • What do you hope to achieve?

  • You might want to see my documentary, Fool Me Twice, about the Australian governments complicity in the Indonesian military's covert operations against East Timorese independence supporters (censored in Australia's mainstream media) before you continue making presumptions.

  • What because you made a documentary you opinion is more relevant than mine?, hmm interesting philosophy you do have. Assumptions? Wow, typical youtube ideology, you know nothing of me or my political convictions and you are in a intellectual pissing contest claiming to be more enlightened. You know fuck all about me and Mr Amateur Documentary maker I suggest you source your research. in places other than the internet and the mainstream media quoted at the end of your masterpiece.

  • Again, I said important to Australia (as in the majority of Australians), not you as an individual.

Are you saying I should fraudulently source my research?

  • What I am saying if you are going to say watch my documentary and boast a bold statement like (censored in Australia's mainstream media) before you continue making presumptions. Then at the end I see your research material is sourced from the net and mainstream media, you have eroded any ounce of credibility you are trying to establish with politically enlighten people like myself. I think that you should study more docos or at least watch 4 corners.

  • I have been very curtious to you. And ignored your constant abuse.

    Now you pull this crap.

    What are you talking about?

It was a half joke, yeah I might watch it if Ive got time. There are other documentaries, books and resources besides 'The Howard Years'.

You obviously havnt looked at all my resources. I made this documentary so people could get this information for free.

In fact, this is about the only time ive ever told anyone to see my documentary through comments,...

  • I only did so because you brought up East Timor which is a main issue in my documentary.

And, 4 corners was one of the references in the film.

  • Ok fair enuff, I think we can both agree that we would be hard pressed to vote 4 these guys unless we thought that it coudld make a difference. I am not abusing you If I was you would know it.

  • oh, and I meant 'my metaphor', not metaphors in general.

  • How about you go fuck yourself in the spirit of the Australian sex party. Yes, there's nothing wrong with masturbation.

Nothing wrong with gays having equal rights. Nothing wrong with children being adopted by good people. Nothing wrong with self expression. Nothing wrong with watching other people engage in a legal practice.

If you hate sex, freedom and are pro censorship, it's you who are the dullard. it appears your lobotomy was effective.

We're not going to take religious BS anymore.

  • You've made many assumptions from my first comment.

Maybe you should turn that passion in to action and join the Wearechange Australia organisation, which I am a member of, which is vehemently against internet censorship.

  • @foolmetwicethemovie fiona patten is intelligent charming and liekable and i agree with their policies.. theyre no isnult.

  • If you can convince me your more likely to take advise from science than an astrologer you've got my vote.

  • About bloody time = some sanity in politics!

    CICCIOLINA FOR P.M.!!!!

  • I'll wait and see some more policy platforms of course, but colour me interested. It's good to see some political movements out there against our governments' leanings toward the right (despite our society doing the opposite).

  • About time someone stood up for normal people against the religious freaks wanting to control everyone.
