  • Three Thumbs Up ???

  • love it have it on lp from the street sound collection

  • Heard this on Soul Train the other day and the dancers were getting loose.Looked like Mavis wanted to turn it loose also!!!

  • wow! what a surprise..i had no idea the staples recorded this song..excellent cover!

  • One person in here was slippery!

  • It shouldn't be surprising that this is a Talking Heads song, especially when 2 of the writers of this song and the band broke off to become the Tom Tom Club and gave us Genius Of Love, etc. Very kewl pairing. Mavis just has an awesome voice.

  • amazing yes david is in it

  • Talking Heads did the original. Staple Singers covered it.

  • wait a sec--talking heads covered this? or visa versa. i'm simply confused

  • Its got a DEEP GROOVE :)

  • That's David Byrne playin guitar on this version

  • jadore!!!!

  • Wow.

  • Real music with a meaning. I love you Staple Singers.

  • 4:00 - 4:30...worth the price of admission...

  • this song sounds so great

  • I have the original on vinyl and this isn't it...

  • @GrubyTolek talking heads done the original!!!!

  • @steviefaye

I mean - the original Staple Singers version... Not altered.

  • @GrubyTolek cool !!!!

  • LOVE.IT.POPS going on!

  • I started DVR'ing Soul Train episodes and heard this song for the first time. Pops was COLD! RIP

  • i love The staple Singers but i just hate the 80s r&b sound

  • @JuanD86 The early 80s were AMAZING. Around 1984 they started messing with the sound.

  • I seen them sing this on some TV show back in the 80's, and I have always remembered it. The lyric turn like a wheel like a wheel comes from the Prophet Ezekiel. This song has always intrigued me.

  • wait, is this a cover of talking heads, or vice versa? or do they have a common origin?

  • @prophetchannel It's a cover of Talking Heads. Pops Staples was in David Byrne's film "True Stories" then covered this song!

  • @beerscanada No, this was two years before True Stories was released.

  • Great track from one of my favorite vocal families

  • turn like a wheel inside a wheel!!

  • where can you download this?

  • This is fabulous! Great cover of a great song

  • Ohh Lawd...

    This version's got SNAP!

  • This beat is insane!!!

  • Great version who did the original !!!

  • @hungryherbie This is a Talking Heads song.

In 1984 Pops Staples was in the Talking Heads movie and did another song in the movie.

  • @funny0000000 thank you

  • Talking Head + Staple Singers = stone jam!

  • I like the original better, but this cover isn't half bad.

  • Man, thanks a lot! Please, If by any chance you have "Life During Wartime" as well, you will make a whole generation very, very happy. Again, thanks a lot!

  • I looked for this song for 5 years...... excellent song. Dont know what they r saying but it still gets me

  • STILL so HOT. This is my jam! I lose my natural mind towards the end when Pops and Mavis start hollerin'. I think I prefer the Staples' version over Talking Heads (tho I think that's David Byrne working his guitar on this recording too...)

  • @frankndustyfan the end of this song is brilliant with the ad libs etc. was great back in 84 and just as good today.
