to the driver of the civic. if any ones car was falling apart was yours different color bumper trunk fender etc. The only reason you won was because the trans on the monte took a shi88 when we launched. after i got the trans fixed you never came back for the rematch and now the civic is gone. and if you ever decide to build another civic for whast is called road racing i accept the challenge onthe road race and on the street and the strip which ever you perfer to lose in.

@takingmyshitdude A stock 80's Monte SS with a 305 High output engine topped out at 185 HP in the 87 and 88 models.

I have an 87 with custom suspension, four-wheel 8 pistol disc brakes and a supercharged 390 stroker putting out 600 HP. I put all that together for under $10,000. I must say that is is a beast considering it all fits under the stock hood. It's a total sleeper that shocks people with "tuned" 4 cylindars.

ive seen these snot catchers run at the drag strip. a stock civic will only do a 17 maybe a 15.5 to a 17. a SS does a 13.6-14.4 stock. my jr dragster will beat them in the quarter. my jr is a 60HP BLOCKZILLA and does a 7.90 in the 1/8. this race is bull. a ss has WAY more top speed then these things. where u wanna race. i will gladly race you. no problem

the car weighes about 3600 lbs. and has about 180 hp stock and that 180 isn't to the wheels. i have owned 9 monte's and ss'es. you really need to get a strong 350, or bigger cubes to get much out of these car. these cars stock start out great out of the the hole, but just dies 1/8 miles later. and the top end.

best bet is to put an ls1 in it. and get 18 -24 mpg.

The 305 engine back in the 80's was the same 305 that was in the Z-28. In the 80's all chevys with the 305 were severely underpowered, until about 1987. Don't ask me why, but I know b/c I have a 86 Z-28 and the stock setup sucks. B20 will definitely win, its lighter, and P/W ratio is better.
