@sdtarheels... "suadade vem correndo" means "longing comes running" in portuguese... and the title of pharcyde's song is "runnin".. on top of that, the "run" hook sample part in the pharcyde song is sampled from RUN DMC.... all kinds of layers in this piece...
Your show keeps getting better, although, for episode 33, I was hoping you would do all 33 1/3's lps! It's all good. i'm loving this. I'm just mad I found your show so late.
5:37 sampled by the RZA, dre of course...but yeah whats up with some J Dilla samples like what sample did he use for "the questions" by common?..ok as i type this the stan getz jloint came on (pharcyde runnin) so there is some dilla, but STILL
I love how you went out on this, you are actually getting really creative with the camera shots. Keep it up, this is how you appreciate the music and history of Black culture. Teach the youth
@FUNKtionDJ Aww. Been wondering where you been. Keith is actually the person who sent me "The Ultimate Breaks" series when I didn't even know they existed. I had been following samples the old fashioned way prior to that. Thanks for all your contributions to the show, brother.
330 SAMPLES YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS TO ME, I'VE BURNED MY FAVOITES WHICH MAKES UP 7 CDs SO FAR AND WE FUCKIN PARTY TO THESE SONGS , YOU FUCKIN ROCK!!!
What was that Dusty Springfield comment? I just love her voice. Damn, I love when you mess around with your gear. I still want to see how that thing works. I may have to end up getting something like that. Any small single CD units that work in the same vein? Still want you to do that video someday. As always funk... Peace. I'll have a little somethin somethin for you in the morning...
P.S this should be a course in University! I took an Opera course one time- and I learnt almost as much as Opera music and history as I learnt hip hop from your videos! *no joke* YES! I listen to hip hop and collect samples too but, man, you know a lot!
I have watched all your vids from part 1-33, so I have a right to make an unusual request for part 34! (maybe not- but I am desperate for this sample! please!) I have been looking for Amerie's sample- Why don't we fall in love (its not "hip hop" I know). And Funk, what happened to all the Del the FUNKY homosapien samples? esp from Deltron 3030! here's one, William Sheller- Introit (used for Deltron- 3030).
yo bro i have alot of respect for yuh for what yuh do iv watched all of them starting from 1 til here the whole day non stop startin at 10am and its 5:45pm and i still cant get enough. im tryin to sample records for beats and im just startin and trying to learn and your def a big help wit this really gettin alot of ideas and everything. keep on doing your thing and im from copiague by the way.
glad u like the show bro. keep at it and remember this. it isn't the destination but the journey that matters. no matter what your tracks end up like, you should treasure the process of MAKING them. only use music that REALLY moves you.
Stop this nonsense right now! There is no way this should be free. This is a ridiculous level of funk and knowledge. Like I said before, this should be required listening and viewing before you make any type of hip hop track. Keep it up.
The Lee Dorsey Twist was a sick move... and Tom Jones??? I HAD NO IDEA that The Stetsa Beat came from him, never would've guessed. 5 Stars as always...
