  • Who cares what this phony prick oliver stone says or does. Go live in venezuela you tax dodging asshole.

  • in the deep future this will be viewed as our prophet from god.

  • "Born in the USA", haha.

  • Nice socks. Asshole

  • Oliver Stone is a genius but he has bad taste in socks

  • SIMPLY'::COPY.;,&`;.PASTE:::

    SIMPLY,,`COPY,`:&,.:PASTE::;

  • interACTION.

  • Nice socks ...

  • can you belive it , oliwer stone went to yale , at the same years as bush and clinton .

  • USA & ALL COUNTRIES ALWAYS CORRUPT- ITS HISTORY of the overpopulated patriarcal religious states

  • It'd be so cool if I could meet him and interview him myself?

  • This guy doing the interview is a fucking moron. Do some research for Christ sake.

  • Excellent post. It's always interesting to hear Oliver Stone.

  • Its true that Stone has released more than a few bombs over the years, however he is still one of the best living directors.

  • Gr8

  • What the fuck is it with that opening music?

  • Mi director predilecto, y vaya mi admiración por vos. You are great !!!!

  • Oliver Stones' movies are in a sense conversations with history, as spoken in this interview; but when you examine most of his movies, a current theme is a loss of innocence, and moreover, modern tragedies that strike a chord in the heart of those that are willing to watch his movies without a severe critical eye..born on the fourth of july and the story of Ron Kovic is great and the only film that gives evidence of great acting by Tom Cruise...only my opinion

  • Jesus Christ, Kreisler looks like a giant goddamn nerd.

  • Read the New Yorker's article, "The Influencer," and you'll get an understanding of the sort of people who want to shut free-thinkers like Oliver Stone up. Shame on Haim Saban. Stone's apology only proved his initial argument. The corrupt powers he exposed attacked him for speaking the truth.

  • This is from 1996. "Salvador" and "Platoon" were both from 1986, which he says was 10 years before this interview (at 20:40).

  • @todnyc then he said "almost 20, then let's say they were done 10 years ago.

  • his kool

  • Dr. Strangelove, relates to what is happening today.

When Gen. Curtis LeMay secretly sent a U2 over Russia

to try & trick the Russians into launching WWIII,

    JFK fired LeMay.

LeMay then met with Gen. Charles Cabell & planned the Dallas assassination of JFK. The mayor of Dallas was the brother of Cabell. What a movie.

DA Jim Garrison issued a subpoena for Gen. Cabell, but the CIA helped Cabell dodge the subpoena.

From which we get the movie Dr. Strangelove.

  • the guy interviewing him looks/sounds like that insane gay professor giving the speech on dope and narcotics in Fear and Loathing....

  • I didn't like The Doors because it was too over-the-top I became numb to what was happening and I just wanted it to end.

...and yet I've seen it 4 times. Go figure.

  • @seka1986, eyyyy, FUCK you, man! nobody needs critics and hypocrites like you, man. Oliver Stone, next to Scorsese and Lumet, is the greatest director alive. his controversial and thought provoking films force you to examine the mass-media obsession and corrupt scandels alive today in "Vmerica".

  • Amerikkkakkka

  • I will be fully satisfied with Stone as soon as he apologizes for making The Doors

  • @koolkamel322 he took some liberties, but he does that with all his movies. I think it was truthful, but didn't show every side of Jim Morrison, it only showed the wild/self-destructive side

  • dude but i love platoon... great movie

  • @03coi typical stupid comment by an ignorant internet user. Let's face it: the internet is ALSO a virtual arena where talent-free nobodies thumb down talented artists. Despicable.

  • This looks way older than 1997 lol

  • The only thing I can't forgive Oliver Stone for is the "The Doors"--horrible film and a terrible portrayal of Jim Morrison

  • @hopkins4545 Its underrated I mean the shit they nominate actors for nowadays and they didn't val kilmer for this PLease--

  • 13:15 that's why i'm watching this

  • smart guy

  • damn you can really tell that these two don't like eachother and aren't getting along.

  • Heh Heh!

  • Oliver Stone and his films are real issues that is coupled with high technical quality assembly editing is one of the best filmmakers

  • excellent work!

  • This director - one of the truly gifted artists in today's Hollywood - is simply a legend. It's no surprise that so many mediocre people rubbish him.

    Great video, a must-see.

  • absolutely right.....

  • red socks

  • the same amount of money that Rupert Murdoch pays Bill O'reilly to trash Obama.

  • You can espect that from O'reilly but from O Stone is realy surprising me (escuse mi bad english)

  • You're right. Rupert Murdoch needs to be held accountable for the propaganda his employees spew on his network. He should be deported back to Australia where he came from or charged with sedition.

  • Rupert Murdoch owns around 110 newspapers in Australia alone, a country of just 21 million people. He owns their minds. so much for freedom of the press, he is the press.

  • what about the AUC (paramilitary)??? who supports them??? don't tell me Chavez

  • LIAR LIAR LIAR!!!!!!!!!. Stop repeating those lies, like the Weapons of mass destruction on Iraq and many others.

CHAVEZ DOES NOT SUPPORT the farc. He only wants PEACE because the fucking farc also affects Venezuela and kidnap venezuelan and kill venezuelans. Besides, farc and the narco goverment of uribe also affects Venezuela. It was colombian senator who asked for help in mediation. Chavez has told the farc to stop the armed fight but the colombian narcogovernment won't allow it.

  • Oliver Stone is a great director and very intelligent. I like him.

  • I've watched a lot of the "Conversations with History" series, and normally the host is very good, and asks great questions. This interview was a little unfortunate, as his questions were a little pedestrian, and Stone appeared to be in a bad mood from the start. If we'd got both men on their best, this could have been a great interview. I hope someday they get to meet again.

  • totally agree.

  • kind of a prophetic comment on Alexander

  • we where soldiers ha ha. u have very childish taste in film..stone great film maker.

  • childlish? go watch it and compare them, THEN well talk.

  • you two should get a room.

  • no one cares what you think of stone's pictures, you haven't brought anything constructive to the table. Maybe take another look at his movies with a different mindset

  • constructive?.. ok... how about discussing stone's vietnam films... always taking sides... i hate that...

  • haha born in the usa 6:30

    that really annoys stone

  • Stone is very standoffish and rude. Crossing his arms, looking away and at the ceiling, checking his watch, yanking his mic off like he was in a hurry to get out of there, etc. It's a shame because he's clearly intelligent and well-read and would be an interesting conversationalist if you didn't get the feeling he'd rather be doing anything else.

  • vktrsx you are a natural Stone hater, why the fuck do you think he was annoyed? He doesnt have time to talk to old school walking cain teachers that believes in the system of corruption. besides, that frickin prick was trying to jump the boat on Stone I mean he didnt even give him room to breathe. who knows? maybe the room was hot and he also was in need of thirst so of course one is going to feel uncomfortable, Oliver shook he his hand dispite the poor editing cuts

  • could of had a shitty day?

  • where can i get the soundtrack to this show, oh my god, i love those keyboards!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • hard to believe how badly he did on world trade center

given how insightful he is here

    about american

    paranoia

and art as a cover for it of which he refused to participate in, and exposes on film

  • When did Stone make this interview?

  • Why is the interview edited at 22:07?

  • that made me laugh so hard when harry laughed at 5:00.

  • He said he was close with Ron Kovic until recently. Why, did Kovic die? I haven't heard that he's dead.

  • I love Oliver Stone's films. He's without a doubt my favourite director.

  • great interview harry....oliver i am now gonna watch wall street...love gekko....thanks bruce

  • wall street was the height of his career but he could not have reached it without platoon

  • i love the infighting in the platoon...two styles of survival...Barnes--stick together as one a unit versus allius--become really good at geurilla warfare...i love platoon too...take care...b

  • Harry Kreisler forgot The Doors and Talk Radio.

  • those were not good films

    and just crap

wall street and platoon are american classics

and should be seen by any and all americans
