I personally own this camera, and use it for my videos and I think it's a great starting camera, its simple to use and I enjoy using it when filming and taking pictures. The lack of an external stereo speaker has to be one of my biggest complaints though, because when shooting the video, sometimes the sound can be so-so.

You can't go into aperture priority mode, it doesn't come with it

This camera is not crap. For the price the camera takes great pics great videos and of you use lithium batteries... It does great in battery power!!

It has 55mb of internal memory

It comes with 24MB built in memory, which is not enough for anything, you probably will need an SD card.

man i got an GP 2700 rechargeable NIMH batteries in this cam x) fucker can run more than few days on thous AA yes i did notice the low batt icon but it was still runing 3 days + - 20 25 pics/day

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better for the same price and more compact..i believe fuji is trying to make this camera more bulk to trick is to believe its actually a slr but com on its crap i bout it all my pictures were blurry and when i take videos all i heard was the damn lens noise..i advise you to get the tz5 because its will last longer being metallic vs this plastic piece of shit

Yeah i got mine yesterday and the videos when recorded in HD are amazing :) well worth getting it if you want it for videoing

no probs with it, i got 2700 Milliampère and 2300 and the 2300 even works better then the 2700 but i got no probs whats so ever with the bats

Wide angle photo's are unsharp in the edges due to the extreme zoom lens.

HD 720p video is OK on a LCD tv, but only with close objects, landscapes are crap. Good camera considering the price though.
