@Megatronicful Well first things first! You don;t buy live to enable your xbox to go online.

you buy Live for your specific account. So in other words. buy 12 month on your account. only your account gets 12 month live. so yes if you transfer your account the live will follow it. I suggest not deleting it but transfer your account to a usb then transfer to your slim.

@unkown671 I like the 4gb console because it has that matte finish to it. I took the 250 version because I needed the memory(I install games to my hard drive because I'm prone to scratching games) and I wanted to try out the kinect :)

I'll agree, that 360 has some amazing games, with the likes of Gears, Halo etc. However, PS3 I would say is more reliable, and I know this from experience. If you don't mind spending a little extra, then I'd buy the PS3. If not, you will still get your moneys worth in a 360.
