  • why do you need a soundcard? Isn't it possible to just connect the mixer booth output directly to the computer? If that's possible is it the record output on the computer or the green where you put your loudspeakers and headphones( wich one am i going to connect it to? ).. ye you know what i mean.

Btw do really get good sound quality beacuse what i remember the soundquality of recording with audacity sucks :(

  • by far the best vid on how to .......cheers

  • On my djm 400 i have to master outputs, is that the same?

red/white RCA to 3.5mm jack from mixers master output to my USB external soundcard?

  • Yeah those two are the same outputs.

Balanced jacks are better as far as i know... now iam not a sound expert though.

  • what do you mean by balanced?

  • Balanced as in left and right side jack plug.

  • @PhiberCell Thanks dude..

  • hott

  • I just have the booth running through a Griffin iMic and plugged into the USB port on my mac....then I can record with Audacity or Final Vinyl....maybe even Garageband (but I haven't tried that yet).

Your set up seems a little bit excessive, mine only cost an extra $80 AU for the iMic (which included Final Vinyl software).

Macs and Serato seem the way to go, never had an issue with either

  • alright I say the same about troq its not my kind of program snice I like to use alot of effects and stuff and the way they worked in troq was just to confusing I'll try to do some mixes with both but I like I said I suck so don't be to hard me lol also I mostly play top 40 music hip hop pop rap rock etc so its a little different then what you and most of the DJ I've seem on you tube I believe its a little hard because of the changes in beats/rhythms well I'll ttyl

    Peace!

  • good to know I guess i'm gonna have to dual boot my mac pro when I get it because I've tried different windows os based laptops and they either fail or don't work for long period of time etc can you recommend a good windows os based laptop for djing? I'll ttyl

    Peace!

  • To be honost i can't really recomend a windows laptop...

    go for the mac book.

Ive had to many failures with windows when iam out djing, and the mac has never let me down yet, even though its and older machine.

But if you do get a windows laptop spend some good time looking for it, make sure its good what you get and not a budget pc.

But for me... its Mac all the way when it involves music and live shows.

  • yeah I'm thinking your right because I spent about $900 U.S. on a gateway with 3gb and a 1.6 dual core running visa and it messed up during a gig luckily I was able to getting working right before any one noticed i think more the computer it was the freaking vista os man I hate it lol

  • good stuff/good video but I think your complicating your self a little to much if you have Virtual DJ and timed coded vinyls if you what to use turntables instead of just clicking with mouse and a keyboard you can record it straight through Virtual DJ its much better quality and less mess well I'm just giving you another option you could check not saying there is anything wrong with your setup so yea I would record of me mixing but I suck :( so yea well I'll ttyl

    Peace!

  • Hmm now iam confused... i just wrote a long reply to your comment yet it isnt showing...

    Did you get it?

  • I got this one which says you wrote a long reply that didn't show. try typing it in parts like If you get to 200 characters put something (...continued below) and reply to that comment and so on. another trick i do when I write long comments is I open notepad and copy and paste comment before I post in case it doesn't work its happened to me alot if your not to lazy to retype it just send me message since as for as i know there is no limit to those

  • yeah but virtual dj 4.3. on mac dont support vinyl mode for some reason

    and me and phibercell

    only have torq

and dont get me wrong and virtual dj do work together

but not an a mac because you need ASIO drivers and mac doesnt support asio pc does

  • Yeah iam a pure Torq user when it comes to digital deejaying.

But even if i was only using a pc i still wouldnt use VDJ since its just not my kind of program.

Anyway cool dude i wouldnt mind seeing you do a mix or two, even if you think you suck...

Its a good community here and there is room for all.

  • for 1tain I saw in Virtual DJ 5.2 is out for mace but that the vinyl thing is still not fixed which I think is weird I can't for certain because I don't have a mac yet well I'll ttyl keep an out for my mixes which I should put up in a couples days if not before

    peace!

  • yeah i woudent doubt it if still doesnt work

yeah man i want to hear your mixes

what kind of music your into
