I would rather see suspected terrorists inhumanely mistreated or tortured, than to see American boys killed out on the battlefield. Maybe what they did went too far. But that's the nature of the business they are in. It's a game and it isn't pretty. You have to remember too, these are suspected terrorists. Not normal innocent people. It would be a different story had they been Nazis or Japanese who did this shit and worse to our soldiers during WW2.

It reminds me of 'Nam. They used to go into villages, round up people and ask them where the VC were. When someone wouldn't talk, what were they supposed to do? Just believe them? Those VC were out there trying to kill the US troops. They had to do what they had to do to get information out of them. If one of them knew the VC position, it could have saved many American lives. We never really had a right to be over there, but they were doing what they had to.

I rather think some of the point is that that sort of Torture interrogation 'wasn't' working. One thing that was said was that a Victim of this sort of Interrogation would have said 'anything' they thought the interrogator wanted to hear. Another story said it was more effective to act humanely towards these suspects. Torture is wrong. Period. There is no excuse for it. It's like the death penalty, when we legalize torture, We become the monsters we are fighting.

This stuff will come out eventually. Obama simply preferred not to share the stage with it during his Mid-East trip.
The sad fact is that the torture evidence will become reference material for "in your face" pop artists, and pornography to a rapidly growing subset of our population.
At least we seem to have avoided having the most ruthless of the torturers rise in power as they do in regimes that use such tactics.

Sexual abuse, waterboarding, humiliation.
Bombing innocents, destroying of a nation.
If We in the West act in the way we claim the 'terrorists' are, what does that make us?

Well put. I am so ashamed of what my country has done. I am hoping when I am older we can look upon these terrible atrocities as things of the past. But I dunno.
