I myself have mixed feelings about Mr. Scheuer. I respect his many years of CIA service, and I have read Imperial Hubris, in which he makes some very interesting points.

But he can also sound somewhat over-militant.

So I guess sometimes you have to take the bad with the good.

I can understand your perspective. It's important to remember that Scheuer was integrally involved in the rendition programs. He's spot on with his foreign policy, though, and it's good to see him attacking various neoconservative ideologies.

It's also wise to remember that disinformation, to be effective, needs to be 90% accurate.

look at his book, imperial hubris, highly critical of many administrations. also his last point was that his program is only the water to put on the fire started by US policy. I abhor torture but this guy truly does think that the program, although ugly and indirectly unnessary, is required to protect the nation.
