@hzuhairy virtually impossible on all but the least maintained bike... that said, the wheel was definitely locked up, but sometimes the cable will slip at the clamp on the front brake's quick release due to under-tightening; it's the only way you'd totally lose control like that... same thing happened to me when a cop blew a light in manhattan and I slammed into the side of him because my front cable slipped from strangling the lever while the rear locked up.

can't really tell happened but if he locked up even at that speed and in those conditions  iam pretty sure you would go flying over the handlebars yeah but ill have a stab in the dark and say that his brake cable snapped and that caused it.

@archernewb obviously you have never been in a road bike in this conditions...it is extremely slick on the streets leading into towns because of motor oil and diesel...He was going a bit too fast and straight at the road sign in the middle of the two way road...he avoided by going wider and then try to put the left leg down to skid the bike towards the opposite direction without luck...I don't think he freaked out at all.

@avidal7 The bike was straight up when he locked up, he didn't even start turning, he panicked and over braked. I ride motorcycles and bicycles often, I know two wheel dynamics very well.
