Cubby was happy with all of the goodness you gave to him--and you never let him down :) You gave him happiness and love when he needed it the most. You will see him again one day. Now he runs with my little Eskies who are at the Rainbow Bridge :)
Beautiful video. We lost our samoyed Sol a year ago, he was only 8 but had health problems because of diabetes. I miss him so much.
We have another samoyed now called Luca, who is 12, but thinks she's a lot younger. She keeps hiding bones under the pillows and in our clothes, and spends a lot of time chasing squirrels.
I had a samoyed/golden retriever mix. He lived to be 13. My brother being in college, and my parents working most of the day, he was the only living thing I had frequent contact with. He'd always make sure to lay down near me wherever I was in the house. Near the end he was having a lot of joint problems. He couldn't even stand up on his own. While no one in my family wanted to lose him, we knew it would be for the better. He was the best friend I ever had, and I will never stop missing him.

im a rough tough trucker from aberdeen and your post has got me in tears. we had two samoyeds,frosty and big casper. we had frosty for 13 years and casper was a rescue dog we got when he was 10. he had his problems but we got him right way up and what a fantastic dog he was. when i came home from at night from work id spend ages just grooming them. so theraputic. we lost casper 5 years ago and sometimes look for them both when i open the door at night.i miss them both so much. Wow, just beatiful. We had a Sammy named Snow. She ws amazing. We loved her so much. She could be dominating, and "I'll show you attitude" but that's what we loved about her . She was 17 when she passed, and it was so so hard to let her go .

This is a beautiful site ... my partner and I just lost our Sammy, Remington. He was 12 years and 1 month old when he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We had him since he was 6 weeks old ... and we miss him terribly.
What a perfect tribute to a great dog. We got ours on xmas day 1991 when he was 6 weeks old, and for the next 13 years we were his devoted and perfectly trained people......responding to his every yip, yap and bark.
i put my dog murphy to rest not to long ago and i loved him as much as my parents because when ever me and him were outside he followed me an if i went on the road he would bark at me to make sure i was safe. then one day as my mom was driving me to school she said say good bye to murphy i gave him a hug and kiss and drove to school. then i came from school i ran in to the house to play with my dog...and he was gone. and people still tease me and say hurt full things about him and his life.
We got our samoyed when I was 4 years old (1990) at a local rescue center. His name was Zack and he was the nicest most loyal friend I had ever had. I don't like calling him a dog because to me he was much more then that. Tragically Zack had developed severe arthritis in his hind legs and other hip issues. We had to lay him to rest when he was 14 in Feb. of 2004.
Your story touched me a lot cause is very similar to what I lived. Last year 2008 I took "Lobito" from the streets, an old Samoyed also very ill, he was in a very bad healthy state and I just could have him 8 months and his illnes won, I just lost him 1 month ago and I miss him so much. I agree with you, if you guys can help a dog who is suffrering and doesn't have a home, just do it, they will be SO thankful just as Lobito was. I wish I could have had him since he was little.

I always had a Dog from being a small child until well into adulthood.
I loved them all but the last One was a Samoyed and He had the most amazing personality.The pain was so bad when I lost him I can not bear to have another Dog now.

I love this video. I have a lab/chao mix. we saved him from the pound. he was underweight and had kennel cough when we first got him. now hes got bad allergies. I never regreted getting and recuing him. Sorry you lost him! i wouldnt know what to do if i had lost my dogs....
it really takes a special & amazing person to take in a sick dog...not many people can stand to get close to a dog knowing that it may not live a very long life. i know that losing a dog is one of the worst feelings in the world. I remember when I lost my first sammy..It was one of the saddest days of my life. Also, when I first moved out of my parents house, the only thing I really missed was dogs. I came home the next day and brushed them all out. LOL Sammy's are the BEST!

We totally share with you - we lost Cointreau at age 5 after rescuing her from a bad home to find she had advanced cancer, then we adopted Cass and Stoli, and we lost Cass in January aged 9 after he tore both cruciate ligaments in both hind legs - he was too active to put through surgery and suffer 6 months of physio - we love and miss them both, so very very much - our kids. Stoli remains with us and probably will for years to come, we hope.
If more people were like you, this world would be a better place. I have rescued PLENTY of dogs from the street and have been lucky enough to find a home for all, which is tough for a mixbreed. I kept a Sammy, her name is Ursa and she is a helathy 12 year old. She's like my child. I can't imagine being without her. she follows me everywhere, we play, we talk, she's my baby. Well done. Keep giving them hope. Your Cubby did deserve better and that's why he found YOU! :) I'll hug Ursa in his name.
I have a samoyed named Pup. She is a very quiet dog and she is a very sweet pup. I AM SOooOOOOOOOOOOooOOoOoOoOOoOOOOoooo sorry for your loss. My other samoyed was named Lacy but we called her Boney. She died 3 years ago on September 25. She was 16. Again, I am sooo sorry for your loss.

My samoyed was the best dog I could ever ask for. We rescued her and after 11 years together, she died on december 2nd 2005. I still cry when I think about her. Your video touched home for me.

i know it is hard. The hardest part would be, if they can think and talk, what their last thoughts might have been.

i put my dog murphy to rest not to long ago and i loved him as much as my parents because when ever me and him were outside he followed me an if i went on the road he would bark at me to make sure i was safe. then one day as my mom was driving me to school she said say good bye to murphy i gave him a hug and kiss and drove to school. then i came from school i ran in to the house to play with my dog...and he was gone. and people still tease me and say hurt full things about him and his life.

We got our samoyed when I was 4 years old (1990) at a local rescue center. His name was Zack and he was the nicest most loyal friend I had ever had. I don't like calling him a dog because to me he was much more then that. Tragically Zack had developed severe arthritis in his hind legs and other hip issues. We had to lay him to rest when he was 14 in Feb. of 2004.

Your story touched me a lot cause is very similar to what I lived. Last year 2008 I took "Lobito" from the streets, an old Samoyed also very ill, he was in a very bad healthy state and I just could have him 8 months and his illnes won, I just lost him 1 month ago and I miss him so much. I agree with you, if you guys can help a dog who is suffrering and doesn't have a home, just do it, they will be SO thankful just as Lobito was. I wish I could have had him since he was little.

I always had a Dog from being a small child until well into adulthood.
I loved them all but the last One was a Samoyed and He had the most amazing personality.The pain was so bad when I lost him I can not bear to have another Dog now.
Perhaps I am not as brave as you.

I absolutely loved this tribute! I lost my first samoyed Kyia from Cancer in 2003. They become family do they not! Myy second Sammy came from a rescue. They are such loving dogs I can't imagine life with out them!

Bless you both for giving Cubby a good life for his remaining time. We have a 10 year old Sammy named Bailey and love him beyond words. Your video made my heart break for you. We hug our big boy many times a day and cannot think of the day when he won't be here anymore. Hurts too much.

I love this video. I have a lab/chao mix. we saved him from the pound. he was underweight and had kennel cough when we first got him. now hes got bad allergies. I never regreted getting and recuing him. Sorry you lost him! i wouldnt know what to do if i had lost my dogs....

it really takes a special & amazing person to take in a sick dog...not many people can stand to get close to a dog knowing that it may not live a very long life. i know that losing a dog is one of the worst feelings in the world. God bless you and your family for doing what you did for this dog. You gave him life, no dog should ever suffer and not have constant love. I was really touched by your story, you really are a hero. If only the world had more people like you.

I remember when I lost my first sammy..It was one of the saddest days of my life. Also, when I first moved out of my parents house, the only thing I really missed was dogs. I came home the next day and brushed them all out. LOL Sammy's are the BEST!

We totally share with you - we lost Cointreau at age 5 after rescuing her from a bad home to find she had advanced cancer, then we adopted Cass and Stoli, and we lost Cass in January aged 9 after he tore both cruciate ligaments in both hind legs - he was too active to put through surgery and suffer 6 months of physio - we love and miss them both, so very very much - our kids. Stoli remains with us and probably will for years to come, we hope.

If more people were like you, this world would be a better place. I have rescued PLENTY of dogs from the street and have been lucky enough to find a home for all, which is tough for a mixbreed. I kept a Sammy, her name is Ursa and she is a helathy 12 year old. She's like my child. I can't imagine being without her. she follows me everywhere, we play, we talk, she's my baby. Well done. Keep giving them hope. Your Cubby did deserve better and that's why he found YOU! :) I'll hug Ursa in his name.

I have a samoyed named Pup. She is a very quiet dog and she is a very sweet pup. I AM SOooOOOOOOOOOOooOOoOoOoOOoOOOOoooo sorry for your loss. My other samoyed was named Lacy but we called her Boney. She died 3 years ago on September 25. She was 16. Again, I am sooo sorry for your loss.

My samoyed was the best dog I could ever ask for. We rescued her and after 11 years together, she died on december 2nd 2005. I still cry when I think about her. Your video touched home for me.

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our Nimbus in October 2005. I have had six samoyeds in my life, each very special. Our current one is Cirrus. He is two. You can see some of my videos that include Cirrus with our collies.

Watching your video was like watching our son's Samoyed, Benny. He, too, was a rescued dog with many health problems. He looked just like Cubby. He was the best friend anyone could have. Im really sorry about Cubby...you see we just got a new puppy and we already had a cat and it was so funny to see my cat Boots to Lenny my dog, but one night we got a phone call and Boots got hit by a car...we all cried and burried him under his favorite tree he use to climb ever day...he was an out door cat...
