  • My grandmother had the same truck only its 4wd and has the 2.6 engine in it

  • what does it have for a engine a 2.0

  • @Ryan4933 Yes 2.0 Carb Engine

  • I got a 91 Mighty Max V6 4x4 GREAT truck! 200,000 miles right now! Just got a burnt valve only running on 5 cyl. Changeing them right now. WATCH THAT ECU!! Mine went out after sitting 5 years. Otherwise great little truck!

  • just replace the seals...that engine will be worth it...this is one of those trucks that will always get you home...i've had the fuel pump, the oil pump, the alternator, the water pump, no battery, hole in the radiator break at different times of course and always 80-100 miles from home and it always got me home before it died without need for a tow...I love this truck. BTW, all those things broke after about 12 years old or older and 150k miles. they don't make them like that anymore.

  • the toyota pickup is like that too.I went a lot of places in mines too had minese for 5 years got it with 200.000 miles and stilll going strong

  • i got an '89 Hilux diesel with 402,000miles on it... none like it

  • 99.99999999% of vehicles won't run with no fuel

  • noooo, really? Here I thought the truck would continue to run on an empty tank of gas. Well then, if a genius like you figured it out, who am I to argue? What I want to know is where I can find one of those .00000001% of vehicles. Your obvious implies that there is some possibility that a small percentage can run with no fuel.hmmmm

  • You said your truck got you home with no fuel pump. And a small percentage can, its called electricity. You make yourself stupider every time you try

  • That engine will last forever even if you only change the oil every 12k miles.

  • It's self changing anyway... LOL

  • That's the way I look at it. I've been too lazy to change that half moon grommet on the back side of the valve cover gasket, so it leaks through there. Putting a quart in every 1000 miles or so is no big deal. I will have to change the filter at some point tho.

  • That's nothing.... Mine leaks out the oil pan, and it has no valve guide seals.. Goes through a Quart a week/150-200 miles.. Costs more to keep oil in it than gas. I have an extra engine I'm going to spend the winter working on.

  • @sonofjabba Hello, i got 86' 2.6 too and got bad guides i think too. i go through a quart of oil in the same span. should i just get a new cylinder head or do i fix the guides? what did you do with your d50.

  • how do you crank the damn thing? ours blew half the oil out when we left it out

  • Ah, we finally get to see the debut of the Mighty Max. It looks great, can't wait to see what it drags home.

  • cool truck
