Bobby thank you for all your hilarious witty comments and probably more importantly for how you delivered them....you sir are and always will be a legend
Bobby "The Brain" Heenan he truly was the best manager in wrestling. I remember finding myself focusing on Mr Heenan during a match. He was so brilliant and such a character!
best heel ever, best wrestling personality ever, one of the funniest people ive ever heard in my life. I could hear him talk for hours. Love live the Brain!
The only manager I can think of who actually drew more heat than his wrestlers and the only manager who drew money regardless of the talent he represented.
No one like him ...before or since. He was one of the reasons to watch each week. He was the Don Rickles of wrestling. Thanks for the memories Brain....I will always think about you
I think having the Hall of Fame in ballroom, or whatever kind of room they are in here for this hall of fame is much more nicer and less nerve racking than having it in an arena or what have you
When you can get Kane to laugh, you know you're killing it in your Hall of Fame speech. Bobby Heenan is my favorite wrestling personality because of just that reason.
@surfer53 Unfortunately I heard he had his lower jaw removed and is still fighting... IMO it sounds to me like he's fighting a slow and losing battle. :(
It absolutely sucks because Heenan is the one talent the WWE has had that I believe has been held back because he was with pro-wrestling. This guy could have been the next David Letterman had he just been able to get ABC behind him in the 80's to start his own late night show.
He is the most talent man behind the mic in WWE history.
Absolute Legend, such a shame his voice has changed due to the cancer, but just shows the warrior he is,that he's still hear jokin an telling them great stories.
@TheMashwatcher585 Nah, Heenan was a host, not an actor. He had comedic timing and quick wit to match the very best comedic talents, still does in fact. His style of humor was broad and timeless. Bobby Heenan deserves a spot (that he'll never get) along side comedic geniuses like Abbot & Costello, Bob Hope & Johny Carson. He really IS that good.
He was/is more like Harley Race of managers,2 be honest w/ you guys...He might've not had as many titles/champions...But he NEVER became a living joke 2wards the end of it...STILL THE Manager of Managers,imho...
Things I miss about wrestling 1. Managers where have they gone 2. The dressing room clearing out and all the guys are in the ring and the commentator says "Oh My God were out of time see you next week. 3 The interviews with the belt holder & the guy comes & beat him up steal the belt and next week the guy is wearing the belt doing an interview Ha! Classic
i believe if u think his zingers 2wards his wife, cynthia,r harsh...im guessing u woiuld prolly wanna hear any she prolly has had 2wards him...theyre possibly better/worse than any he could ever come up w/...
@motleyhar Steve lombardi AKA the brawler never gets the credit he deserves he could go out there and make ANYONE look good even if they really were not all that good. Career jobber but probably the best at jobbing and making the other wrestler look good, takes a lot of talent to do that.
bobby heenan helped my friend to fight cancer.while im so upset about his passing, but my friend is still fighting the battle.god bless you bobby.you have made more people laugh, cry, blow up,and feel every possible emotion.i loved you then,i love you still, always have and always will.love your biggest and best fan, janie stratton
A well deserved honour for the Weasel. Does not make me happy that Vince McMahon stole Verne Gagne's idea to call him the weasel. Back then there were no patents on characters. A true entertainment gem.
Yes he's acting, they are all acting, but a manager is supposed to provide a certain credibility to a wrestler. A wrestler's association with a well known manager helps his stock rise. A good manager has to be a good talker in front of the camera because sometimes the manager has to be the voice of the wrestler. A good manager also provides an extra obstacle that the hero must overcome in order to defeat his enemy. Managers used to be very important parts of the show
@7Rayo13 But some managers were literally managers. For example, Precious Paul Ellering, who managed the Road Warriors, did EVERYTHING for those guys; he booked hotels, arranged their travel, worked out their schedules, discussed the matches with them, oversaw their training in the gym, and did everything a good manager should do
Bobby is a legend, one of the greatest commentators of all time, and one of the greatest managers of all time, a true gentleman and representive of the sport.
Bobby absolutely stole the show at the 2004 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. That was also the only HOF DVD that they released on its own - the rest have been coupled with the Wrestlemania DVD. I'm guessing that is because the 2004 DVD did not sell that well. I bought it and Bobby's speech alone made it worth the price I paid for that DVD. His speech was the only one I watched more than once - I could listen to Bobby all day long.
Absolutely the cornerstone of an era. As much as the wrestlrs did in the ring heperformed with the headset. He was brilliant. I think that WWE today sucks because they dont have good comentators. The rock made most of these guys look like retards. There were so many times that the brain took the show from the wrestlers. They were there just so he could have something to talk about. He really was a legend.
i agree with all of you . Bobby was in a clas of his own . Truly on of the best . Him and Gorilla Monsoon made one of the best tag team brodcast partners ever The show prime time wrestling was a classic you can watch some of the shows on WWE on demand . I saw The Brain not to long ago at the hall of fame . I kno he is in bad health . My prayers are with you

God bless him. I hope he stays healthy for years to come.
I was fortunate enough to grow up (I was born in 1980) with Bobby Heenan as THE heel manager in wrestling. I hated him as a child, which meant he did his job. The fact that as an adult, I love this guy like a family member even though I've never met him, shows how great he is. Bobby Heenan is, without question, the greatest manager in the history of professional wrestling.
Like most of you who had the joy of watching managers/commentators like Heenan, I feel there is a huge void in today's wrestling.
