Iroh played a HUGE part in Zuko's development, being both a father and a mentor (even though most of his wise sayings are kinda hard to understand). Iroh also added his wonderful humor where needed. A compassionate old man that lost one of his 2 most important people (Lu Ten, the other being Zuko!) while still being lighthearted. A one-of-a-kind character, my personal favorite. He deserves a series detailing his history, if his second actor is still alive, though no-one tops Mako... *Sniffle*

it saddened me when i heard mako, iroh's voice actor, died... :(

im glad they didnt take iroh out because of that... and atleast they had a replacement voice actor that did a decent job after mako's passing... though i still preferred mako's voice.

mako WAS iroh, and i'll never forget his great work with this character.

i like Iroh because he's a reminder of myself, strong (not necessarily physically), smart, cunning, patient, understanding, kind, and most of all willing to protect those important to him. a message to everyone:

Don't take the people in your life like Iroh for granted, because when they're gone, you'll regret never telling them that "thank you", that " I love you", or for giving them a simple hug. I've learned the hard way MANY times, so please take my advice and put it to good use *R.I.P MAKO*

I agree that Iroh is by far the best guy in the Avatar show and I hadn't really noticed they had changed voice actors. But Make is who made Iroh into the best, I do give props to the man who did book three cause he tried his best to be Iroh.

I agree with you, that's what (to me) makes Avatar so special. It's so well written, the characters are not flat. Animation for TV these days is usually shallow, meaningless -just a kick here and there, no heart - but not Avatar :)

Great video :D. I know how you feel about being able to go on and on about wonderful Iroh is, I could too. I love the choice of music. Songs from the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon soundtrack go so well with avatar clips. This video does such a great job at showing what Iroh is like. I love it a definate must favorite. :D Take care.

Iroh is among the greatest and most well executed characters in the history of animation. His voice actor, Mako, was also among the first Japanese Americans to become an actor. Both Mako and Iroh are legends.

Iroh's new voice actor isn't as good, but I give him great credit for attempting to follow in the footsteps of two legends. He isn't doing a terrible job either. He is probably the best for the part.

RIP Mako. I for one will never forget you.
