This was beautiful. The subtle flecks of water on the screen during the storm were amazing. most of all though was the way in which the background came to life more so than what I was focusing on the in foreground. The little blades of grass moving was also a very nice touch. Thanks.

@zell777 thank you so much. sorry to be a nag, i'm asking because i'm an animation student and i have a project coming up i want to do on ToonBoom. I think your animation style is brilliant! I wondered which bit did you use maya for. i mean at what part of the film was the 3d element? thank you :)
@natEmation No problem. The weather vein (rooster) and the windmills (only when they break apart) are in 3d, rendered out as swf files in Maya. I used a shatter effect with gravity/collisions in Maya so I wouldn't have to animate all the little pieces by hand.
My nearly 4 yr old son is utterly obsessed with windmills, suffice to say we have thoroughly enjoyed watching this video countless times since we came across it.

really nice ending i think life should be that easy to make windmills Help Me and think of ways to shut down powerplants and ways to make windmills!:)
The score was nice. Reminded me of a track on "City of Angels."
The details were impressive. From the rain spatter on the "camera lens" during the storm, to the notches chopped into 1 windmill stem from the other windmill blades. Got a little "scary" thinking those blades were going to chop into the farmers head. And when the new crop of windmills grew up, I was like, "AHHH! More head chopping blades!" - Enjoyed all your attention to detail.
This video reminds me of an old Jimmy Stewart movie called "The Rare Breed." In the movie, JS buys a prize bull for his ranch. The bull dies in a blizzard, but the next spring brings many calves with the bull's markings.

A very nice video... But the moral of the story as noble as it may be...Windmills for power requires open spaces which means clearing of trees. Individual solar panels atop of ones house is better...I don't know how they work when it is cloudy. The windmills in the bare lands are a great idea.
@MonyMG1959 Yep, you can't depend solely on wind power, but there are a lot of desert areas (like Palm Springs, where I got inspired for this film) where trees don't need to be taken down. The general metaphor is on renewable energy, whichever type it might be. I personally also think that solar is the best way, but that would've made a crappy film ;)
