Basically, it's the rejection of objective truth, a post-modernist might say that we can't know anything, including the things that we conclude from using our eyes and ears. I reject the idea of holding beliefs because I think I could always be wrong or things could change, and in that sense I'd call myself a post-modernist.

The song was not the closing song in the Olympics, but it WAS used in a montage that was shown on tv during the games. I remembered it and have been searching for the montage for years since I saw it, but I have never been able to find it. But I KNOW it was used (I was 10 at the time, and I was very excited to hear the theme song from Pokemon 2000 played for a montage during the Olympics). I'm surprised he remembered it.

I'm not pointing any examples because that will just spark a nasty debate, but you know what I mean. Then there are liberals who voted for Obama because he was black. (Face it, that happened too) So regardless of your side, voting for someone just for quoting Pokemon is not nearly as ignorant as others' reasons for their votes.
