  • I could not have described macrophages better than you!

  • lol.

  • a macrophage is a cell that eats up rubiish in our body, such as bacteria which is a type of germ, or dead cells or in other words dead meat that is so tiny that u cannot see with naked eye. how do u like this explanation for a novice.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

    GLUCOCEREBROCIDASE..

I am not sure WHY or WHY they invent these tounge rolling names that are challanging to articulate for anyone in any language?

The commentator doctor was such a prefessional .. Thanks alot

  • Thanks. It helps more to hear it from a person (despite the fact that I have no idea what a macrophage is). =)

  • a macrophage is a phagocyte, putting it in simple terms. Being so, it "eats" up abnormal substances found in the extracellular matrix of tissues (including antigens like bacteria, and protein from a different organism). It is found in the majority of tissues and it cleans up the trash. Glucocerebroside is a fatty substance that acumulates because it cannot be broken down. The macrophages eat it and they become what u see, "foamy cells".

    :):)
