Give me some more information. Without knowing more, I can only guess.

Is this a GS500 you have or something else?

i did the same thing with the light and my light is not as bright when i touch my starter switch any ideas

If your test light is dim, your battery might not be putting out enough amps to run your starter motor.

Does your headlight work?

Do your turn signals flash?

Do your turn signals flash but not very fast?

Does your horn work?

Does your horn sound like a tire old trombone?

Do you have a battery charger?

This part is important:

Are your battery levels full?

Take your battery out and look at the electrolyte levels. If any are below the mark, pop off the caps on top and carefully CAREFULLY top them off with distilled water (not tap or bottled water).

You will need a little funnel to fill up the levels.

awesome work ^^ ...i'm gonna replace my engine on my gs500e cause it's totally broken and i found a cheap used one ...anyways i guess i'm gonna do a vid like you to show how it worked out...btw mine is the same colour than yours, the best for this bike i think =)
