If God used any new word which was not in arabic language before He right there explains it to men. for example in sura 74 see from 26 to 30. and make translation for yourself as God explains the word Saqar. do not see what scholars want to make from this word. and you will find something very nice. @Alaalaxow My dear. You are going to defend the Idea of beating women because you think that, it is in Quran. I recommend you to carefully read and translate thi Aya 4:34 for yourself. beafore that, you need to find the meaning of the arabic word (wadhribuhun) the word (dharaba, idhrabu) and in the Quran you will find that never it means beating. just search for the word in Quran in other verses. you dont have to listen to ancient islamic scholers how they translated the aya. Allah S teaches us.

( I know that you can do this ) just take care to translate ضرب in all situations like you say Beating. if the meaning was not sutisfying you will find how to translate it correctly ok good luck. 14:24, 4:34, 4:94, 4:101, 18:11, 43:5, 24:31, 20: 77. you must be unprejudiced. lots of translaters do their choice, you must choose one word for all, then see what it would mean. @Mostuse. God never cahnges the words He has used so one word in all Quran must mean the same. This helps you find a lot of interesting things. If God used any new word which was not in arabic language before He right there explains it to men. for example in sura 74 see from 26 to 30. and make translation for yourself as God explains the word Saqar. do not see what scholars want to make from this word. and you will find something very nice. @GhulamRabani ضرب means beat silly....understand the context...it talks about women who do not obey their husbands. What you're suggesting is not any different from avoiding sexual contact which is already mentioned in the verse. Allah gave three commands and beating is one of them.
